What would prevent him from taking the files, is if they are deleted.

I am not sure what people expect to be released. When the FBI raided his apartment in NY, they found a safe with media, etc, but said they needed an additional warrant to take it, why, I do not know. But when they went back the media was gone. After raiding his island, it is already reported much of the evidence went missing.

However, teeing this up, only to have rogue FBI agents and people within the DOJ publicly undermine them gives good reason to start investigating those people and eventually their higher ups that oversaw them.

If they just went after these people, it would be seen as politicized and weaponized l, trump getting retribution, etc. Now it will be viewed as going after the people who covered up Epstein, which everyone will be on board with. Now it is no longer “he is going after Barr and Wray because they refused to do his bidding”, it will be “he is going after Barr and Wray because they helped cover up Epstein”.

That being said, the photo op of MAGA influencers was terribly cringe lol
