I personally think Snowden is a hero. It shouldn't be a crime to reveal outright illegal activity that violates the Constitution by the federal government.

Then they deceptively claim he fled to Russia when in reality he just got stuck there on route to Latin America due to the US revoking his passport. Trump had previously flirted with pardoning Snowden in the past, so I hope he follows through with that.

He would have been a hero but he turned coat to the Russians ..lol at getting stuck in Russia

He's American, but he's also a Russian citizen now. With his background and what he knows it would be dangerous to bring him back to the USA. I don't disagree he shouldn't be prosecuted for what he revealed, but at the same time it's too late now. He is definitely most likely working with the Russian government.

He's for the Russian government by force. Not like he can really do anything.

That may or may not be true. It's a risky proposition to bring him back here right now. He is most certainly working in some capacity in Russian intelligence.

He also might have a bone to pick if you get what I'm saying.

If he got pardoned by the US, he'd want to come back but I highly doubt the Russian government would even allow it. Pretty sure all his movements are being monitored all the time in Moscow.

He was trapped there. He didn’t turn coat.

He was a criminal, not a traitor. And it cost Snowden everything.

He didn’t sell the data to our enemies.

He exposed a deeply corrupt NSA trampling on US citizens rights. Was anyone punished?

As a supposed lefty, he should be your hero.

Exactly. Even if he had some loyalty to Russia (which I think there is 0% chance of being true), he wouldn't be able to provide any value to them because of how many eyes that would be watching. Its not like anyone is going to let him near anything sensitive ever again.

surprised he hasn't shot himself in the back of the head 5 times with 4 different guns and then accidentally ingested some poison and fell out of a ten story balcony of a moscow apartment by now. he must still be feeding america's dirty little secrets to russia otherwise what use would they have to keep him around?

they know he's a leaker and he sold out the highest secrets of the nation of the last place he resided in, so who's to say that he wouldn't do the same to them? no way he's going anywhere, and no way they're telling him shit.

This. Maybe that wasn't his intention originally, but he is now Russian and you can't let him back as if nothing happened. It's not fair, but it is reality.

If he wanted to visit his family or whatever, of course.. but he's got his own family in Russia and has ties and connections there too now. He shouldn't be allowed to stay.
