Bloody hell! Fair play to Eddie - he's made an incredible difference to the team. Superb defensive effort - up there with the peak days of 2002. Australia are a nightmare to face, especially in their gaff, so to go 2-0 up with one to play is Herculean from Hartley & Co. Can't help thinking that a fully fit Pocock would have made a huge difference, though - that man is a truly special rugby player.

Cahn Englun!

So many last ditch tackles. Great test, that second half was played at such a pace. Seems like Foley didn't want to kick on that pitch, or they thought they would break us at the try line.

Helps you had an extra player all match.

Anyway, are you lot congenitally bad losers? I appreciate you're very good at winning, but God, can't you ever be gracious in defeat?

Maybe if we had as much practice at it as you guys.

Were you this upset when Joubert handed you the QF against Scotland? I suspect not.

Were you upset when you guys gave away a penalty, high tackled a player and then got the ball and a penalty because of a minor melee which you started with the high tackle?

I bet you were laughing your ass off.

Nope, and nor did I think it was particularly funny when Hooper - a magnificent rugby player - threw sand at Haskell's face in that scrum. WTF was that about?

He mistook him for the guy in charge of the surface and thought it would be an ironic way to let him know he's doing a shit job. Probably drunk.

Honestly I didn't see it, kinda rage quit for a while after the penalty and only watched bits of the game.

Got to admit that defense was pretty darn impressive though.

To be fair, sounded like the weather had been bad leading up to the match - not sure how long it takes to relay pitches, but doesn't sound like there was much of an alternative other than just getting on with it. Still, both teams had to play on it, not like it only disadvantaged England or something.

That was the best England defensive performance I've seen since we were at our peak in 02. I never thought Haskell & Robshaw were capable of a showing like that one. Billy's good, but Pocock continues to lead the way at 8. All credit to our Australian coaches - I genuinely never thought this squad had it in them. I still think there's gaps, and I remain unconvinced by Youngs, Brown and a couple of our other backs, but what Jones & co have done is pretty incredible.

2-1 next weekend, and whoever plays against these two sides next better be in for a long night, because Australia will come rampaging back, and England have a platform to build on.

Australia getting pumped in that 2nd match was embarrassing, all that attack and couldn't over the line more than once.

Great defence by England but Australia should of won that game, they mentally got to the Aussies, the way they pushed them around at half time was the game changer

He might've got told to pull his head in, by I'm surprised Chieka has been throughly out talked in the media by Jones. Eddie Jones while outspoken I didn't think held a torch to Chieka in media relations and sound bytes
