International Elon Musk Sieg Heiling during his speech

Are you in Cali or something? When I worked in music people definitely leaned left but we're more middle of the road.

I definitely keep a very politically mixed group of friends and associates so I probably don't attack the far leaning crowd
I'm from Edmonton but I work with bands from all over Canada. I have worked with American artists but never directly under any.

You will never break out of the local band scene if you don't have the right opinions. Most bands that do make a big impact do so because they get government funding. Spiritbox is the biggest and latest example of that. These grants are never given to bands that aren't openly left wing or don't consist of prominent minorities.

The politics become so performative, for example there is a hardcore band here that went viral for attacking someone who gave a nazi salute at a show. What is not known is this was just a setup to try and get clout online and it worked. This band has gotten very popular because of this.

It wasn't this way at all 10-15 years ago. It's a problem coast to coast up here. If anyone catches so much as whiff of you have a right wing opinion you are done, even in Alberta the most redneck province in all of Canada.

Oh I see, totally different scene. Fair enough.

Yeah I don't miss the politics that came with working in music and radio. I can't say its the same down here but there were definitely different flavors of bullshit. Piss the wrong person off and you basically can't do anything worthwhile. Id say it wasn't as politically charged tho. Mostly just gang mentality

How do you people expect to be taken seriously when you tie your logic to utter stupidity like this? The amount of finger spread can make or break a seig heil? Good fucking lord.
Ya bud that was his point, I'm pointing he's got a screw loose

All these months later, and rightists are still trying to obfuscate from the fact that muskrat did a nazi salute. Trump dumped him, you don't have to defend him anymore. Please, start taking babysteps back to reality.

I think the same of him as I do Elon Musk in this scenario.
Serious question then.

Do you think its possible that even if you believe Elons intent innocous, the fact that actual nazis praise and embrace his action-

It may have a different significance?

No. You can't stop people from doing whatever. If some crazy Palestine supporter goes out and kills a couple of Jews, should Rashida Thalib and Ilhan Omar be tied to them? Only if you want to play dog whistle conspiracy theorist. It's pretty silly, dude.

I hear you and Im not clowning you with this, but as a foreigner you likely wont understand

The social, political climate in US, the maga movement is heavily associated and tied to racism, white supremacy.

So for many Americans, seeing someone throw up nazi signs as whats perceived as a racist party is alarming

When people with zero connections throw up similar gestures, its meaningless.

Hence no one caring if Booker threw up a similar gesture.

Nah, you don't need to be an American to see the media drum up ties to white supremacy with the Trump Administration. I'm right next door. Our media is rather intertwined. America is not some mysterious foreign land that I could not possibly understand, like I'm commenting on the political sphere of Zimbabwe. I live in Canada, not the North Pole.

It's only "alarming" if you buy into the bullshit. Now that Musk is having a hissy fit, you can count on all these media organizations and Democrats(and plenty of folks who were vandalizing Tesla's a month ago) who called him a Nazi, treat him like a Saint. All of a sudden, he won't be this evil Nazi. Like clockwork.

Like I said,
Not being American nor understanding the social climate, it would difficult if not impossible for you to understand as Ive seen in some of your other posts

The social climate is no different over there, than it is here or in Europe. Varying degrees of left vs right, with the left calling anyone and everyone who disagrees with them a "white supremacist".

You're not living in some magical unicorn land, that nobody but an American can understand. You're just desperate to cling to this for some mysterious reason, and it's ridiculous.

Both Musk and Booker made the exact same gesture with the exact same intent. Neither one of them are Nazis. The end. You don't have to be an American to see that. You just have to have common sense.

You dont see the false dichotomy here.

This cements that you absolutely dont comprehend and understand the US political or social climate as a foreigner. You seemingly just like trump, which is, bizarre.

Even as you do not understand, and/or willfully ignorant of the obvious historical dichotomy of the US political parties in terms of "race"

There are literal Nazis and White supremacists that praise Musks GESTURE and Trump.

"Donald Trump White Power moment". Thomas Sewell,

"Straight up like 'Sieg Heil', like loving Hitler energy" Nick Fuentes

"Certainly helped to up the rhetoric and help to normalise certain things"
Mark Collett

"Of Course' Trump Voters Are My Voters"
David Duke

Nazi's do not praise Booker.

Only someone politically ignorant would even think thats possible.

Nobody is confused. This is just a desperate attempt by you to not have to admit you're wrong. What are you even arguing with this? You don't live here, so you can't possibly understand why Musk is a Nazi? Full on with with a Trump reference, too. LOL. What the fuck are you even talking about at this point?

And that means a whole lot of fuck all, in terms of viewing Musk himself as a Nazi because of some innocuous gesture he made. What don't you understand?

You're beyond desperate at this point. All because you couldn't handwave Booker's IDENTICAL gesture away, as some manipulated photo. That's what started all this. You were all "You can't compare a still photo to what Musk did!", and then you found out it was the exact same gesture on video, and now you're here trying to give some history lesson that everyone knows, but somehow think is gonna disprove something on my end.

Booker and Musk gave the "my heart goes out to you gesture", that does have similarities to a Nazi salute. Neither one intended it as a Seig-heil, and neither one are Nazis. Do you disagree with that? If not, we're done. If yes, you just have typical Liberal double standards.

Yeah you as a non-American dont comprehend anything I informed you about.

In addition to not comprehending as someone whos not American and evidently knows nothing about American social politician structure; theres a comprehension disconnect here as well.

I wonder how many of Sherdoggers were there setting this up.

Can't see an issue.

Those tube men just happen to be making innocuous gestures, so what? That's just how the wind blows I guess.

There's no "hidden message" but the right will invent a way to hate on those good faith supporters of Tesla.
