No Spoilers Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC

How do you got to that area to the right of Moorth Ruins. I feel like I ventured to far west and missed that entire since I can completely see it on the map.

You mean the castle? That's where I'm at now.

When I went exploring for map fragments last night, I must say that Inquisitor Jori is one cheap mother fucker. Asshole. Fuck that guy.

That entire area of the map just to the east of Moorth Ruins. I tried figure out how to get down there when i first entered the area after the moon knight fight but never figured it out.

I tried to jump down there but it's too high for torrent. Looking at the map, after shadow keep maybe?

Always a good omen when the first thing you see walking into Messmer’s arena is some poor spirit caught in his grab attack.

It’s after the hippo boss at the start of the shadow keep. On the bridge where you’re attacked by some vulgar militia there’s a ladder down to the moat that leads to a series of tunnels that eventually lead down to those ruins in the river.

Fascinating video on how the first boss works. Badass music in that fight too.

Big time spoiler obviously.

Sweet, I'll go give it a look. I just beat the Rot Centipede Bitch and after going a bit up after that I looked at the map and felt I missed a good about of content. I just went back to explore more and found the Ruah Base I missed.

I took him down dual wielding the Moonveil and Meteoric Ore Blade. I also used Glintstone Icecrag with Carian Regal Scepter when fire a spell felt safe. Was a shit boss fight. I've given up hope at seeing a traditional Souls boss and gotta accept From prefers to make boss's do long anime bullshit combos with small windows to attacks. I really hate how much time is spent watching and dodging these over tuned moves.
I smashed him with a hammer until he died.

Thought it was a really fun fight when I embraced the light roll.

Never would have found this.

Did anyone used the imbued sword key to open the portal up to the Ruah ruins or whatever they’re called? Is there no grace point up there? Is there anywhere to go or anything to do other than fight that one knight in the pond and then grab that one item?

Never would have found this.

I wouldn’t have either probably. I only found it because I quickly checked a guide on how to actually reach the eastern most map marker, because I absolutely could not figure out how the fuck to get there.

I’ve been trying to avoid spoilers for the bosses and the lore, but I just needed to know how to reach that last map marker so I caved.

Just got past him, had to give him these hands. Blood affinity Dryleaf Arts, hold them as a 2h weapon and they copy onto the other fist give you a new move set so you can beat the snot out of things while loading up heavy bleed damage.

Use the graves to block the arc spells and charge at him when does the swirlies that come up from the ground.

Good video

I feel like a big valid criticism of the DLC and the base game is how overtuned these boss fights are. The direction in boss design in this game is super drastic compared to other souls game. Like ive said before a lot of these boss fights involve watching the boss do some ridiculous string of attacks that only gives you the smallest of windows to attack in between. You either play that stupid game of waiting for that small window and lose a lot of player agency in the process or just resort to hit trading because fuck having to deal with that bullshit. With the DLCs new scaling system a lot of people cant go back to hit trading which they were probably forced to do in the base game due to the boss design issue. The problem with the argument of telling people to use summons is that summons trivialize the difficultly. So then you get left with 2 options, make the game super easy with summons where it isnt fun or continue to deal with the bullshit as stated previously. I can understand liking this new boss direction, but to ignore valid criticism in the new boss design as people needing to "git gud" is pretty ignorant. Ive seen a few different videos of souls fans not understanding how this DLC is getting mixed reviews and just chalking it up to players being bad but ive been a souls fan since the first Dark Souls and i completely understand why a lot of people including other life long souls fans wouldnt like this new direction.

Insane level design, some of the best I’ve seen since Bloodborne. I’d been trying everything I could to get to some items out of reach in the Storehouse. Gave up on that and came in Shadow Keep from the Cathedral entrance, drained it, found an elevator that brought me to a completely new area in the Storehouse where I could finally get everything.
