No Spoilers Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC

Frozen Dryleaf melts Malenia lol. Her poise is so low so she’s constantly flinching and weak to frost, just a bad match up. Literally kicking the shit out of the base game has been a lot of fun. I’ve also seen so much new content doing the quests, really glad I decided to do a quest run. Going to do one for the DLC too, think there’s a lot I missed.

Curious how Dryleaf fares in the DLC.

Yeah I wonder if you'll be able to bully dlc bosses. I'm on Rellana atm and she has a ton of poise. Surprisingly tanky.

I don’t think so at all lol. I’m expecting an uphill battle.

Cold Infused mine as well. Got summoned for Radagon and I beat the damn brakes off him.

The DLC makes you really level up, even if you don't switch up any gear. I've gone to try and beat Farum Azula right after (I'm on NG5) and I just destroyed both the Godskin duo and Maliketh (and the Draconic Tree Sentinel in between) without even resting between the fights. Some of the DLC fights are so much more difficult.

Watching dist do RL1, no Scadu, just parrying on Radahn is incredible. Has every part of him completely down, just literally cannot screw up once or it’s over.

The cocksucker is dead! I had him down to slivers twice in the 15 times he killed me today, the 2nd sliver health bar being a second hug. I didn't know it killed you. I thought it was just a debuff or something. I was smiling when he hugged me that second time, figuring I'd get last shot off as soon as he dropped me.

The biggest help I added for this last attempt were scholar shield and lord's divine fortification.

These were the talisman's I was using, very helpful if you want to melee him and block some shots without losing all your stamina. Stamina focus for wonderous physic is a must too. Old Lord's Talisman, Viridian Amber Medallion +3, Greatshield Talisman and Erdtree's Favor +2

I was switching to Sword lance when up close, and my Claymore when you need to run from his AOE and meteor thing. The sprint attack never gets old!

I hated this boss, don't look forward to ever doing it again lol. The hippo and Gaius were probably the worst with the bullseye bullshit chomps (hippo worse), they feel glitched, but consort Radahn can eat a thousand dicks. I pretty much enjoyed everyone else, or didn't hate them. Messmer, Rellana and Midra were my favs. Still have Bayle to do though.

I think I'm going to try mastering Rellana's swords whenever I do another run.

Just murked Radagon and the Elden Beast and put this game to bed for a while. I struggled so much with the Elden Beast the first couple of runs. Compared to consort Radahn, they were rather easy, once you learn the Beast's holy attack patterns.

I did Ranni's quest my first ever run, but must have missed her summon sign. It's a great ending yo an intriguing story.

You guys may have seen these already, but Vaati really stepped his productions up with his cinematic collaboration videos, namely this Ranni focused "movie".

I love Miyazaki's world building/environmental storytelling. No one does it better IMO. I especially love how he mixes architecture from recent to ancient and even more ancient civilizations, like the original round table in an old castle/keep walled off in Lyndell.

His "fragmented" story approach leaves many juicy mysteries for us to piece together and speculate on, though I'd like to see him lean a bit more into cinematics for his stories and questlines.

Do any of you follow the Tarnished Archeologist on Youtube? His channel is amazing, dude does his research. Noticing the OG round table, and paying attention to the various structures brought me to him. I like how he finds From Soft's influences using real world history. He has a ton of videos I've been binging on Elden Ring, but is now also diving into Dark Souls and Bloodborne.

Ela's was more entertaining. Dist could've done it that way as well but he chickened out imo.

I’m always super impressed with consistent parries like that, especially with how absurdly fast that fight goes.

Ela’s was definitely more of the marathon approach but I liked Dist’s precision.

Fought Dancing Lion with the fists so I had to learn the fight a bit better and I actually started to really enjoy it. My first time I was seeing nothing but chaos and felt like I just barely scraped by, to get him with relatively low heals and getting into a rhythm with it was great. Definitely moved up in my DLC bosses.

Great boss. I'll be fighting lion next and really looking forward to it. Phase two has maybe the best ost in the entire dlc and the fight's a good challenge.

Enjoyed the DLC, still has the same issues as the base game though. Replaying the DLC on NG+ was painfully boring.

That's the hero I built for Elden Ring. I just killed Starscourge.

That's my favorite sword too.
