Some people abuse the system. But there are people struggling just getting by. In my state min wage is $7.25/hr. Grocery stores start at $10/hr. My wife has been a cake decorator for 25 years and makes $20/hr. That is not enough to even afford a 2 bedroom apartment. When i got injured and had to rely on only her income, with one child, we only qualified for $300 EBT, no cash assistance. I will tell you, that $300 in food assistance really helped.

The system is broken. The more kids they have, the more food stamps they get. To make matters worse, the child care works (CCW) has an insanely long waiting list ( under funded ) So how can you force these people with lots of kids to work if you cant help them pay for daycare. Its a broken system that needs to be fixed.

By the way, I bought 60 eggs this morning for $15 from Sams, who also sells them at a profit. So I imagine Waffle House also buys thousands of eggs per day from their regional suppliers, just like Sams, so adding an extra charge of 50 cents is laughable.
