Crime Egg prices at an all time high.

the price of eggs still hasn't cracked. people are panic buying eggs like it was toilet paper during a pandemic.

i guess these people have no confidence in the price and supply of their precious eggs to have to start panic buying and shit. now they have to buy and hoard some eggs like their lives depend on them and shit. are these panic buyers the same people who voted for benedict donald after he told them he was going to lower the price of eggs?

but god damn, this guy makes a point. to hell with eggs, you're at costco. just spend a few more cents and upgrade to a whole damn chicken!

I don't know if the thread is tongue-in-cheek, but here are my personal observations.

I live in SC now which is right around the average in terms of cost of living. Charleston so that probably puts me in the top 3rd in terms of cost. Eggs have gone up. Everything has gone up.

Are eggs at an all-time high? I'd have to presume yes. I think there are probably very few things that are not at an all-time high.

I'm guessing the insinuation here is that it's Trump's fault. On this, I have two comments.

1) I think it's a much better litmus test to ask the question at what proportion any good has gone up, not whether it's the highest it's ever been. TS is probably drunk as usual but the premise of the argument is dishonest, and probably would be even if he were sober.

2) I don't know whether it's Trump's fault or not. I don't think you can blame Trump for egg prices, just like I don't think you can blame Biden for gas prices. I do know this- if Trump COULD do something to help prices, he wouldn't do it unless it somehow served him.

I just went to the store an hour ago after seeing this thread. There are free range eggs, and plenty of them for $4.99. Relative to pre-covid, that's pretty bad. Relative to today, that's really good. But on the same shelf there are organic for $10.49.

If we really want to blame something, we need to blame two things:
1) Bird flu. There's no doubt there's a shortage. It's not what people are making it out to be. If you go to the store in the morning or early afternoon, there are plenty. But there is enough of a shortage, and enough stupid people panicking, to increase demand relative to supply.

2) The most important element is the same that has been affecting everything- fast food, cars, apartments, all major businesses: a refusal on the part of companies/shareholders to accept a smaller margin. Big businesses are greedy as fuck. Once they get a certain margin, they won't accept any reduction. McDonald's and other fast food restaurants are losing mountains of cash. The reason? It's not ecoli. It's not people suddenly becoming health-conscious. It's because the fucking shareholders don't want to take even the smallest hit to their returns. Inflation isn't hurting McDonald's. Any time they make the defense of "Oh no, if we increase wages we have to increase prices" it's bullshit. The CEO and shareholders could take less than a single percentage of a cut to their return (Not salary, his actual earnings) and pay every worker on the planet $22.00 - $23.00 an hour. But they won't do it because the corp mantra is "always more".

Which is retarded, unnatural and unsustainable. Does a gardener have a better harvest every fucking year? Up by 30% every goddamn time? What about Car Mechanics?

The only way you can make your bottom line continually go up without exception is to either continually make the best product imaginable relative to market, or inflict misery and hardship on others. I wonder which one these huge corporations are opting for.

The insulation isn’t that it’s Trump’s fault. It’s that all the idiots who claimed it was Biden’s fault a few months ago have suddenly decided the president doesn’t control the price of eggs. Nobody knows why their minds changed, it’s one of life’s great mysteries.

I don't know that that's the insinuation at all. It might be yours and if so you're correct.

The takeaway is that you guys, all of you, capitalize on anything to make whatever party you hate look bad

This is so retarded that I feel stupid for having to type this out. During the Biden years people complained about inflation driving up the cost of all groceries. That isn't what we're seeing now. Eggs are up because of the bird flu. Eventually the bird flu will subside and eggs will go down. We never saw Biden's increases on the cost of groceries go down.

"Biden's" inflation was caused by the pandemic, it hit the entire world and the United States actually did better than most of the western world.

Yes, egg prices will go down, no, their current high prices aren't Trump's fault, and you should be giving Biden credit for how his administration handled the pandemic inflation, not complaining about it. People are stupid and don't understand inflation, which is why every incumbent in the western world got hammered at the polls this year.

That can't possibly be your takeaway.

Liberals are joking, you guys were deadly serious. You're the ones who don't give a shit about these issues and just want to win, so you'll say anything.

But it is. Read the thread. TS is just calling out some hypocrisy. I’m sure there are examples on “both sides”.

"Biden's" inflation was caused by the pandemic
Are you sure Biden's $2 trillion dollar spending package had absolutely nothing to do with it? You remember, its the one he passed a few months after Drumpf passed his own enormous relief package. But I'm sure it was necessary and nothing to do with Biden's contempt for the orange man.

the United States actually did better than most of the western world.
Naturally. The US has the #1 GDP in the world.

People are stupid and don't understand inflation, which is why every incumbent in the western world got hammered at the polls this year.
Last time I checked, the polling showed inflation wasn't the only thing people were unhappy with.

Are you asking me to prove a negative?

Naturally. The US has the #1 GDP in the world.

So you don't think Biden should get any credit for the fantastic economy? Anyone actually looking at the numbers would acknowledge that they were excellent. Inflation was much better in America than most places, including my country, and it's silly to give the credit to the GDP.

Last time I checked, the polling showed inflation wasn't the only thing people were unhappy with.

So the first time in recorded history every incumbent in the west getting hammered means nothing to you?

You never budge an inch even in the face of undeniable fact, your position is carved in stone.

Panic at Costco is going to be my Panic at the Disco cover band name.

Maybe those teenagers Elon has rifling through my private data on government servers, maybe he can peel off one of the teens and they can fix the egg prices.

Are you asking me to prove a negative?
I'm asking you set your partisanship aside and acknowledge Biden has some responsibility for the inflation.
So you don't think Biden should get any credit for the fantastic economy?
Really all they did was re-open everything. I guess you could say he could have made it worse by trying to keep restrictions going.

including my country
Your country really shit the bed with immigration and housing.

it's silly to give the credit to the GDP.
Nah, its silly to discredit our businesses and influence when examining our recovery compared to other nations.

So the first time in recorded history every incumbent in the west getting hammered means nothing to you?
The polls that say people were unhappy about mass illegal immigration and all the woke crap mean nothing to you?

We’re a selfish society that never looks at our own consumption. The reason we’re here in the first place is because everyone wants to eat like six fucking eggs for breakfast everyday. Try some beans or tofu. If we don’t change this stuff will keep happening. Everyone points the finger except at themselves.

I still don’t know why the left can’t meme yet .. there is plenty of material .

that's a glorious one. shame you don't like it. so when is president musk and the first felon going to lower the price of your precious eggs?

not this week, maybe next week?

Good question buddy . They are going to be presidents for life, democracy is over. They have time to fix that, project2025 goals are more important. Hopefully those MAGA chips get designed and mandatory for all in the world

As for the meme, think of Dolan memes , right , someone on the left would type a paragraph or two for the convos in a Dolan meme, spilling out every word and using proper grammar. Sounds like a good thing but it’s not , that’s the kind of mindset

The food prices of course aren't just because of the president (neither Biden nor Trump) but the issue here is that Trump promised over and over that he'd bring the prices down immediately, on day one. If he says so then it's 100% fair to hold him accountable for why he didn't keep his promise, as no honest and intelligent person promises things that's not within their power to keep. Any averagely gifted person would have known that it was an empty promise though.

Those that blamed Biden but not Trump are however naturally blind sheep because they actively has gone against what has been said and is only playing loyally for their masters.
