Educate me on PRIDE..

All I can say is that I'm glad I own almost every Pride fight on DVD, especially now that the UFC owns the rights to all of those contests.

Some horrible suggestions in this thread.

Don Frye vs. Akiyama.
Shogun vs. Nogueira.
Nogueira vs. Kharitonov.
Jens Pulver vs. Gomi.
Wanderlei Silva vs. Dan Henderson 1
Kharitonov vs. Alexander Emelianenko
Fedor Emelianenko vs. Cro Cop.
Wanderlei Silva vs. Yoshida 1 and 2
Wanderlei Silva vs. Rampage 1 and 2
Nogueira vs. Bob Sapp (Not a joke, YOU HAVE to watch this one)
Shogun vs. Overeem 1.
Chuck Liddell vs. Rampage
Wanderlei Silva vs. Guy Mezger.
Fujita vs. Ken Shamrock.
Fujita vs. Mark Kerr.
Sakuraba vs. Renzo Gracie
Sakuraba vs. Royce Gracie

This is a pretty good list. I'd add Nog Vs Hearing 1, and Sakuraba vs Royce

Fujita/Fedor is a must watch. That fight has a little bit of everything. Also, if you're into brutality then I suggest Kharitoniv/Schilt.

Watch all Fedor's fights, can't think of one boring fight among those.

Some horrible suggestions in this thread.

Don Frye vs. Akiyama.

LOL

Pot, kettle, black.

At least those other suggestions were for fights that actually happened.

Don Frye had a legendary fight with Yoshihiro TAKAYAMA, but never fought Yosihiro Akiyama.

I'd start with the legends of Pride (those who were both really good and very entertaining) if I were you.

Most of Fedor's, Big Nog, Cro Cop, Wanderlei's, Rampage's and Shogun's fights are good. Not all are competitive but if not they are typically over quick.

Ring, foot stomps, knees to head on ground, Fedor, Sakuraba, Igor V, Japan, etc. :icon_chee

So many great fights and fighters. Good ole' days. I was more a UFC boy. However, I would suggest watching Strikeforce as well. Both orgs were pretty awesome.

Sometimes when I am bored I just browse youtube videos of fights I haven't seen and I don't know the winner.

Rampage Vs Wandy I, II and III
Fedor Vs Randleman
Fedor Vs Crocop
Crocop Vs Aleks emelienko
Wandy Vs Crocop
Hong Man Vs Fedor
etc.

Came in expecting pride bashing. Turned out to be a thread celebrating the once greatest, though at the same time flawed, MMA organization.

I would suggest the PRIDE documentary, that's a good start followed by any Fedor, Cro Cop, Sakuraba, Noguiera, Igor, Sergei, Gomi, Coleman, Randleman, Shogun, Rampage, Wand, pretty much every fighter lol that has fought there. Shit even watch some Charles "Krazy Horse" Bennett fights for some laughs or Don Frye vs Takiyama. Pride had awesome production too if you are into entrances and all that stuff.

YouTube, Google, Fight Pass...educated

Here is my personal list of all Pride fights that I know for a fact were not corrupted by the Yakuza with fixed fights.

The Sport of MMA was just so different back then... Including the UFC.

I actually got a pride tattoo when they closed. It was a sad day for me. I started training and competing with the dream of one day fighting in Pride. its all I wanted. I enjoyed the UFC but the dream was always PrideFC. I fought for 2 more years after pride was bought out but when i eventually retired i knew it was late. I fought for 7 years.

Pride just had the best rules.
The presentation made you feel like something special.
I was at some of the earlier UFC from that time period. It felt like a second class Wrestling show at a high school gym. It was just more rowdy and low class. I am personally low class so its not a knock. it just was what it was. I never missed a pride event from the time that i started watching them. The first Pride event I saw i wAs addicted. I instantly knew this was something i wanted out of life. I still follow the MMA as a hole. More so none UFC events.

Kharitonov vs Rizzo. God damn was Kharitonovs boxing on point, scary @ HW at that time

I only got into mma in 2012 so I don't know much about PRIDE other than the big fights that everyone talks about (but I haven't seen lol)

After watching Nog vs Cro Cop on the UFC YouTube channel I was pretty impressed

Could you lot suggest good fights to watch? Exams finish in a bit and then I'll have a lot of spare time to watch them haha
Get FightPass for a few months and watch it all...
