So has anyone else put together Eddie tearing his left bicep and the fact he didn't throw his left during the fight?
Clearly that injury really fucked things, the southpaw was an effort to overcome it, shifting from that to regular was as close to a one two as he could create. I expect he re injured it but had to push through.
It's a real shame we couldn't see a healthy match up but Thor looked tight. Would have liked to see Eddie commit to inside using the left to guard against uppercuts and using his right to the body then head. I get the feeling his lack of ability to throw the left in anger screwed up his options.
I've fought much more experienced shorter fighters who have adopted a similar strategy to deal with my height and range once the inside was taken away. So I don't blame Eddie for the strategy. I think the comments re coaching are not entirely unfair, but that's about it.
Re Martyn Ford, I have a friend who trains with him, I know he's got a great base and has worked a lot on his bjj and striking, that he's freakishly strong and very athletic for his size, has a good gas tank. A fight between him and Thor would be really fun and my money would be on Ford.
