Eddie Alvarez vs. Dustin Poirier Who Takes the Rematch?

This is my most anticipated upcoming fight right now. Poirier is streaking and has finished former UFC champ Pettis and former WSOF champ Gaethje in his last two. Alvarez rebounded and reminded everyone how good he is when he handed Gaeithje his first loss last December. The first fight was awesome until it ended due to an illegal knee.
I honestly have no clue who to lean towards. Poirier is more technically skilled while Alvarez has certain intangibles that make him super dangerous. I'm thinking Poirier but with little confidence. Who you got?

Dustin is the better fighter

Calgary is rated one of the top cities in the world to live in with a booming economy, one of the best health care region's in North America, and tons of space per capita. We also have the Rocky mountains 1 hour drive away.

What city do you live in?

I'm from Southern Ontario but I lived in Calgary for 2 years.

Beautiful city.

Luckily I didn't end up going to 149 when I was there.

I'm picking Eddie. Poirier has been impressive his last couple, wouldn't surprise me if he pulls it off. Picking eddie though. More proven in his career.

Eddie really impressed me on the countdown show. He’s seems very confident, willing to learn and in great shape. He said he’s just got to lay it in the hands of his coaches and go with their game plan.

And with that being said, I think the Mark Henry-Ricardo Almeida coaching duo is one of the best in the game; very underrated.

I got Eddie.

Poirier imo, then Poirier gets smashed by Khabib.

I really don’t know. It’s one of those fights. Like TJ/Cody, no idea who will win. I can see Eddie getting hurt a few times but surviving like he always does (unless it’s against Conor), Poirier wilting and losing, but I can see Eddie being finished these days because he’s taken a lot of damage over the years. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Alvarez.

People who accuse Eddie of trying to "get out of the first fight" with an intentional knee to the head are funny considering Dustin was the one on the ground for a reason.

Dustin.

Outside of the RDA fight - in which Rafa was half dead from the death cut - Eddie always gets rocked and almost finished.

I think Dustin will measure him this time.

Then Dustin can fight Pettis (if conor vs khabib is a go) otherwise Dustin has earned it.

Alvarez 34 and battleworn, so he got worse
Poirier 29, closer to his prime now

Those are the odds, anything can happen

I don't think Dustin's chin holds up 5 rounds. I expect him to pick Eddie apart for the majority of the fight, but Eddie will land his own and eventually tag Dustin hard and end the fight.

Eddie looked terrible in the first round vs diamond, he was lucky to capitalize on dustins overaggression in the next round.
Thinking Poirier gonna come out more patient this time around and pick him apart - now I wouldn't fault anybody for betting Eddie at +150

Poirier... but if they bang don't count Alvarez out. But I want the winner to call out the champ...

This fight is in my home town too! Last time they came here it was a huge disappointment, UFC 149 was one of the worst cards in promotional history.
O yeah.. that sucked.

I remember Kongo vs Jordan... damn what an awful fight.
