Eddie Alvarez on MMA vs Boxing

I watch both sports and love both sports. But I respect the skill level in both. One thing I notice about mma fans who don't follow boxing is they criticise boxing because they want the ufc to overtake boxing all across the world. Mma fans are lore defensive for me then boxing fans. From a fighters perspective I wouldn't care if I was making more money like I said do you think canelo cares about if usman subs him on the road or in the octagon? Lol he makes 10x as much he couldn't care less. He doesn't care about being the baddest man on the planet like mma fans think he or boxers should. I think it's time for everyone to respect both sports considering the amount of deaths and brain damage, both are dangerous sports with warriors in both.
Everyone does respect both sports, you're making up the concept that they don't

Doesn't mean nobody can speak about which is more effective in an actual self-defense situation

I don't feel like either fanbase is that defensive, the Boxing vs MMA thing is lighthearted, most people are fans of both sports, dudes like you take it way too seriously

Why are dudes like you so defensive if the conversation ever gets brought up? Do you think Eddie Alvarez doesn't respect the shit out of dudes like Floyd, or Canelo?
He’s jealous that they’re more famous and wealthy than he is. No doubt about it.

MMA players all have this inferiority complex when it comes to boxers

Exactly. It's also mma fans more so then boxing fans doing this.
Mma fans Def shit on their own sport more than boxing fans do. They seem to enjoy being self destructive.

Well duh the boxer is trained in one discipline of fighting. Well done for that analysis.
To you it's obvious, but a lot of people are uneducated on this, which is why it's healthy to have the conversation be brought up from time to time

Lmao everything you say is pretend to upset people, do you have an actual opinion on anything?

People are dumb and think just because you can punch in both, they’re equivocal.

BRB, I can put a 525 small block engine in my Chevy and beat half the town drag racing. Tell Mario Andretti and Dale Earnhardt to kiss my ass I’m ready for the Indy 500.
So edgey

It's also unfair for someone to say boxer x would get destroyed against ufc fighter y when boxer x has no experience in the octagon. Maybe they should train in other aspects of fighting for a few years first? That would be fair. It's gonna take years and years of training for a pure boxer to even beat a journeyman ufc fighter never mind a elite ufc fighter. Same the other way round.

Alot of mma fans mock boxing just look all across social media. They also are boxing casuals who don't understand the history of boxing and have no understanding of the sport itself.

It's about who would win in a self-defense context

You see the same for Boxing fans, it's people commenting shit on the internet, it's not that serious

Its true but unfortunately its not how the majority of people (casuals) see it. MMAs credibility is taking a hit in the public eye recently and its all because some fighters are willing to disgrace the sport for a payday. If a UFC fighter beats Jake Paul, he beat a Youtuber, if Jake Paul beats a UFC guy, it means a UFC fighter just lost to a Youtuber with a bit of boxing experience. MMA is being put into a position where it cannot win, and at the same time boxing is using MMA names to draw extra attention, its all very calculated and annoying.

Correction jake paul is using mma fighters name not the whole of boxing Einstein. Do you see elite fighters like ggg canelo or Crawford calling out ufc fighters for exposure? Don't think so? Do you see ufc fighters mention boxers from time to time? Yes I would say this is the case.

Shut up Edward, after that humiliation at the hands of Conor he should never ever act cocky

Floyd/Conor
Mir/Cunningham
Chavez jr/Anderson Silva
Oscar attempting to fight GSP

Floyd wanted an easy fight, he could have just fought manny again and made similar money, mcgregor was the only big name in ufc and relevant/plus he beat manny easy so it made sense. Mir cunningham come on man? Really? Are u dumb. Chavez jnr lol an absolute nobody who lives off his dad's name and got gifted fights he shouldn't have had. I'm on about current elite fighters from boxing. Not past it old fighters like cunningham who just need an opponent on a youtube fighters card or fighters like Chavez who's a journeyman. Has canelo called out usman? Or ggg? Has spence or Crawford called out anyone? No because they make good money. Numerous ufc fighters have called out boxers cause they want £££££. Simple and I don't blame them. Eddie alverez is another broke bitter bum who would have loved to been an elite boxer and made 10x as much as he did instead he's living off I can beat a boxer on the street.

I love how it starts off as you saying MMA vs Boxing is stupid and everyone should be respectful, now you're saying Alvarez is a "broke bitter bum"

I'm quoting Connor who's also agrees with my argument. Alot of ufc fighters beg for more money because sadly Dana takes most of it. Would love for ufc fighters to get paid more so they stop begging connor/boxers for fights.

I just posted a video of Fury wanting to fight Ngannou after you made a false claim no boxers ever call out MMA fighters

You can't even spell Conor lol, just shut up

Fury chats alot of crap and says alot of things it's not actually gonna happen . How much would he make fighting ngannou in the octagon? Exactly. How much would he make fighting Joshua? Enough to feed the next 3 fury generations
Exactly.

Lol we're talking about unarmed hand to hand combat, martial arts and of course pussyass boxing fans have to come up with "I'll shoot you!" Which is a more effective martial art? MMA or boxing. One of those two include boxing in it. Give me a fucking break, why is this is even a debate? Because pussyass MMA fans are the most insecure cock suckers in the world and must always shit on their own sport. According to these guys, literally anybody from any other older sport can come in and trane UFC for 6 weeks and become HW champ.

Boxing is the most worthless style on its own but is highly effective when backed by a good ground game. On its own? The boxer loses to the MMA 99/100x. Not even 9 out of 10. A high school wrestler, not even state level, beats a guy like Mayweather if Mayweather has no cross training.

And spare me the $$$ argument, we're not here to talk about finances. This is about martial arts and their effectiveness. You want money then Bezos has superior martial arts cuz he makes more $$$. Bill Gates Martial Arts is also superior to boxing.

Mma fans are so defensive jeez. Ofcourse a boxer loses he has no experience in other disciplines of fighting. Well done Einstein.
