Eddie Alvarez on MMA vs Boxing

Who cares if MMA is closer to a street fight?

A real street fight means your opponent can have a knife or firearm hidden in his pocket.

Then MMA would mean zero if you get caught by surprise.

What if nobody has a knife or firearm?
but what if they do?

There are street fights then there are street fights.

Some street fights are really challenge matches with agreed upon rules.

Then there are no rules fights where you don't know if there are going to be weapons and as soon as an outnumbered person hits the ground you can be sure that they are going to get stomped out by the other persons group.

why would anyone in their right mind want to step into the world of the latter?

Conor is a MMA fighter
no shit , the point I was trying to make is that he didnt get to instigate his wrestling game plan as he couldnt get close enough . No point in being a top wrestler in a street fight if you're not going to get your hands on your opponent in the first place.

The only thing I miss about Brocktober era is that MMA was getting compared to pro wrestling and not to boxing.

I see eddie didnt mention medieval rules. Very conveinient. Thats a real fight not the unarmed BS with a restricted rule set and a referee there to save you. He doesnt know a thing about real fighting until he has stood in there opposite a guy and dueled for real like a man. until hes been in there with a man in chain mail bearing down on him with a katana he cant talk about true fighting
A couple of homos in speedos rolling around with each other pressing their naked bodies together is not real fighting real fighting is done with hammers, metal tubes,. harpoons, and a full suit of armor because they are there to fight not to get each other off

Its true but unfortunately its not how the majority of people (casuals) see it. MMAs credibility is taking a hit in the public eye recently and its all because some fighters are willing to disgrace the sport for a payday. If a UFC fighter beats Jake Paul, he beat a Youtuber, if Jake Paul beats a UFC guy, it means a UFC fighter just lost to a Youtuber with a bit of boxing experience. MMA is being put into a position where it cannot win, and at the same time boxing is using MMA names to draw extra attention, its all very calculated and annoying.

LOL he is very triggered

Eddie you have a fucking glass jaw

GGG and Terence Crawford have done plenty of wrestling, I am sure with a little cross training, they could take their gloves and shoes off and shove them up your ass

The only reason GGG and Bud aren't competitive MMA fighters = $$$$$

Crawford and GGG could walk through at least 3 divisions of MMA players.

Can you imagine glass jaw Oliveira taking a left hook from prime GGG <Lmaoo><Lmaoo><Lmaoo>

It is fucking true though

Some of these high level boxers have a grappling background and other martial arts

Lomachenko and Vitali Klitschko are two others

Much more money in boxing and more prestige at the time they were coming through

I mean are we at the point now that guys who have "grappled" is the same thing as holding their own in that area with experienced mma fighters,or is that just what you choose to believe? lol

MMA fighters train boxing, but that doesnt mean they can box with GGG and Lomachenko. They dont have time to focus only on boxing to get to that level...So why is not the other way around?
