Dyson vacuums

We have the dyson animal, and despite having 3 cats and 2 dogs (1 being a Husky) it works like a champ.

I got the DC66 Animal upright a couple months ago and love it. Got it on sale for $100 off. I use it every day.

I have a dog and 2 cats and use it on both carpet and hard floor. It works like a dream and turns on a dime. The only issue I have with it is it doesn't go real low so it won't go under my tv stand or anything, but that's not a big deal.

Everything works so smoothly and effortlessly. For example, there's no "height setting" and it just has an auto adjustable height that moves freely when you go from carpet to hard floor.

I previously had a Kenmore canister vacuum and though it was good, it got annoying pulling the canister behind me all the time and my wife didn't like doing it at all. I didn't think I'd get another upright again but this thing is just perfect. I love it and totally recommend it.

One bad experience with it so far:

We had berber carpet installed in our hallways and bedrooms 3 years ago. Just recently the dyson pulled up a string of it and ruined a small section. It's a powerful machine.

Upon further inspection, it was where the two rooms joined and it was actually a sloppy joint I'd never noticed before, likely because I never got down on my hands and knees to inspect it because it was right in the door frame. One of my cats also runs around scratching the berber and pulls it up a bit, so she may have lifted the joint section and then the dyson caught it and pulled it up. The Kenmore had never done that before.

I don't blame the dyson for being too powerful, moreso realized it was a poor job and a crazy cat but if you have berber it's something to be aware of.

We got one for a wedding gift (6 years ago. I have to say, it's nice not having to sweep and vacuum. The new ones look nice, but I don't plan on buying one or getting married again any time soon.

I've had one for about 3 or 4 months. Best vacuum I've ever owned.

I got this one:

Got given a Dyson (barrel vac type) when I was a franchisee for an electrical retailer about 15 years ago. Still use that exact one at my new business. Still works pretty good.
The only thing I'll say is the first design was the best. Compact and it did the job perfect. It's like they kept on coming out with new designs which were less compact and still work about the same.
But they are pricey and I am sure by now other vac competitors have caught up with the technology for better value.

I have a 4 bedroom house, a toddler, a shedding border collie and I'm a messy fuck. I have the Dyson Animal and the Animal Stick for quick jobs. They do a really good job and, although some of the glossy plastic feels a bit flimsy, they are really durable.

Those cost a fuck ton.

Get the small canister ones for less than $500. I have one at each house of our houses. One is 18 yrs old the other 7. Use the HEPA filter and the air quality is noticeably better after vacuuming.

I'm a bit of a nut when it comes to vacuums. I had a Hoover while in university that was one of the worst engineered products ever conceived by man.

If you have dogs that shed, and shed hard...go with Kenmore, or if you have the cash, Miele.

Tried a few different brands over the years and as far as getting hair out of carpet, hardwood, couches and not be faced with restricted suction or hair tangling the bristles - Miele all the way.

You live in Zimbabwe so real flooring is what, bare dirt?
In asia carpet isnt even suitable for animals . Its a dirty dust rag and breathing the dust give you health problems . We wonder why white people love it so much . That and they kiss their dog on the mouth and let poochie sleep in their bed and some how they have nerve to call other people dirty . Well carpet is right up there with -wtf white people ?-

The scale in my part of the world is hardwood is rich and vinyl poor - though vinyl is pretty much standard and not so much poor . There may be engineered wood and tile in between but never carpet . No one uses carpet .

Lol at all you men doing woman's work.
I like to live in a clean environment. I guess you like to live in filth. I cook and I clean. My kitchen is spotless. If you leave food out or dirty dishes you're asking for insects to invade your house.

Come at me bro.

I have a Shark Navigator.

Costs less and works great on hardwood /laminate floors.

Dyson is overpriced and heavily marketed, IMO.

Edit: just read about the shedding dog. I, too, have a dog that sheds (husky.) This Shark works great for that. That's actually why I bought it, in fact.
Yup, known two separate people who have backed up a Shark being much better than their Dyson's ever were.

Plus you can get a bitching steam mop included fo free.
