Iron Mike had to finally resort to selling vacuum cleaners eh? Poor bastard...still having to live in the shadow of Robin Givens, that cu...oh DYSON!

Never mind.

They are alright but overpriced. As a former kirby salesman let me tell you how amazing they are.

Can I take a moment or 3 hours of your time sir?

For the price, you've got to get a Miele. Dysons are 100% marketing.

Let me throw this cup of dust on you carpet.

My wife is obsessed with ours, but our previous vacuum, which was a eureka, was just as good. We have the one on the single ball so it's easy to move around but it's really not needed. Save the money and get a midrange one. We also have a dog which sheds like crazy so I hear you on wanting a good model

Of course not, if anything I'd just throw baking powder, a few years ago I did sell kirby's for extra cash in my spare time.

I didn't do the whole team shit where you call someone pretending to get approval for pricing or have a "team leader" etc... I just took em off on my own and sold door to door solo.

I'm fairly certain there's a new model out now but the sentria 2's i sold on average for 1800 or so and I got about 600.00 commission per sale at that price since i got the 5-22% normal commission and 10% team lead commission. Worked great as a supplement to my gi bill but after a few months I did feel kind of sleezy.

They are great vacuums but my distributor bought them from Kirby for around 600 total for the vacuum, rug shampooer, and brush and our price started off as 2500. I think the average final sale price was around 1400 nationwide.

It's funny how they rope in all these down on their luck people to sell and get this cult mentality with high fives and rhymes etc... Being a former marine I just kinda laughed at that shit and was like I'll sell these fuckers just don't come at me with all that kool aide shit.

If you offer a kirby salesman 900 cash they will 9/10 take the deal right there. you could finance it for as little as a 1000. They are amazing vacuums honestly, just the markup is insane.

But I didn't complain

dont get me started on these fuckin vaccums man i got a job for at face value seemed like a decent job you got given a van and just basically had to drive about just doing repairs and delivering vaccums within a day i was basically told i had to bullshit people and sell parts they dont need to keep the job a and it was mainly old people (because who gets a vaccum repair man out bar old folk) i lasted 2 days

I have a Shark Navigator.

Costs less and works great on hardwood /laminate floors.

Dyson is overpriced and heavily marketed, IMO.

Edit: just read about the shedding dog. I, too, have a dog that sheds (husky.) This Shark works great for that. That's actually why I bought it, in fact.

I have a cordless Dyson V6 Motörhead I think? Whatever the pink shafted one is. Woot.com has them on sale regularly, and I think it was about 200 bucks(regularly like 500?). Anywho, I have two dogs that shed really bad, and vacuum a lot. To have a vacuum that is powerful and cordless is awesome. My wife and I love it, probably one of our better investments in that category. Waiting on another good sale at Woot to get a corded one for deeper cleaning.

For a lower price point I'd recommend the shark too. Like the poster above me said.

As a former kirby salesman though, kirbys are the best on the market. Dyson's are overpriced, I loved when I went into a house and someone was "oh I have a dyson" like it was a quality brand or something.

I have one and love it. Have had it for years and bought the handheld version too.

leaning towards either a Dyson V6 or Shark Rocket. I'd like something that can convert to hand held, can do carpet or hard wood, and suck up pet fur. Going back and forth between how useful being cordless would be vs the extra cost.

Fuck cordless, that shit's for cans. Get a Shark, they're the shit.

My girl and I own one. Is as advertised so far. The suction is badass and its a fairly easy to use and connect shit too and constructed pretty solidly.

Worth the money imo seeing as its better than many of the cheaper brands -like Shark for example, which I have owned.

Are they the best? Couldnt say, but we've owned ours for a while and its still working like new years later and is at least better than vacs I've used in the past.

As Krallang mentioned, Kirby is another high end brand you could look into. I know they were awesome back in the day, not sure how they are these days tho.

I know its anecdotal, but the Shark I had was burnt out after roughly 2 years and never had the suction the Dyson I currently own has.

I gotta admit, they look pretty cool. Sci fi alien-ish tech cool. But yeah $500+ bucks on a vacuum is retarded. A former co-worker blew her month's paycheck on it and months down the line was pissed it didn't "suck good" enough. She wasn't exactly made of money either.

Go Miele. Dyson will destroy your carpet and invalidate any warranty you have on your carpet. I have a Miele.

Yall sound poor i pay someone to vacuum

I've had the Dyson Animal for about ten years and aside from a good cleaning here and there it's lasted well. I have two pugs and they shed like crazy, so I've actually been pretty impressed with it.
