The Philippine president, who recently sparked outrage for calling God stupid, has courted new controversy in his largely Roman Catholic country by saying he will resign if anybody can prove that God exists.

President Rodrigo Duterte questioned anew in a speech late Friday some of the basic tenets of the Catholic faith, including the concept of original sin, which he said taints even innocent infants and can only be removed through baptism.

Duterte asks, “Where is the logic of God there?”

He says if there’s “one single witness” who can prove, perhaps with a picture, that they were able to see and talk to God, he will immediately resign.

Last week, Duterte was slammed for calling God “stupid,” with one Catholic bishop calling him a “psychopath.”

While kinda funny, this seems somewhat counterproductive to do in one of the most Catholic countries in the world...

Dammit! His rejection of original sin means I agree with this loon on something. I need to reevaluate my life now.

Duterte is atheist? Interesting....

I wonder if other politicians will notice this and start being vocal about these man-made religions.

Wow, did not expect that. You figure even if he is an atheist he wouldn't be confrontational about it living in a more traditional Roman Catholic country.

I need @ShinkanPo's take on this.

I gotta admit, that's pretty good.

Our very own @TheComebackKid can emulate Donald Trump's meeting with Kim ,, only TCK would be going over to the Philippines and convincing Duterte God exists.

What say Warroomers, start a GoFundMe for TCK ?

It's fucking 2018. If you believe in original sin, you are a neanderthal.

Your ilk will die out soon enough.

Evolution demands it.

My take.

My take is we just elected our own version of Idi Amin.

Atheists are rejoicing they finally got a president that endorses their agenda.

Hey I am an Atheist too but I don't think his almost daily tirades against the Catholic Church is productive and all this talk about disproving or proving God is just a fucking waste of his time he better attend to other problems that is plaguing the country.

The Catholic Church can go fuck them selves if Duterte wants to get them have him investigate the priests who are involved in :eek::eek::eek:philia,scams etc.

The funny thing though still there are a lot of Christian groups still have their heads buried in the sand as Duterte only attacks the Catholic church and it is known that the protestants,Born again, evangelists voted in mass for Duterte.

Kinda surprising Kafir eh? You would think our politicians would pretend to be a believer if they are indeed an atheist, let alone be very vocal about your atheism in public. I would have made sense if he just admit that his not a believer and just end it at that. But no up the ante by challenging all believers hahahaha.

The Silver lining in this is future Filipino politicians should learn that you don't need to fucking suck up to the church just to get elected.

For years and years our sex ed and family planning programs have a hard time providing contraceptives to the poor because the fucking church always campaigns against it.

Props to Duterte for upholding the separation of state and church in his Davao province when he allowed contraceptives to be available in public clinics.

give credit where it is due.

@Kafir-kun I added some more from my post!
