Dustin Poirier is the best "striking based" Lightweight ever

I don't really care about Conor. Try to find other posts of mine cheerleading Conor. Maybe I have, but I really don't think about him unless he's fighting. You being stupid doesn't make me some Conor fanboy.
I said your argument was stupid, because it is.

I don't give a fuck if you like Conor or not.
You are the one making all sorts of excuses and creating imaginary rule changes to try to support your weak ass argument.

Maybe Conor would win in ping pong or duck duck goose, I mean if we are changing rules why stop there?

Robert Whittaker said in an interview the other day that Usman isn't a good striker. That it's the TD threat that makes it effective. TD threat is not a part of striking because it isn't a striking technique. It can make your striking more effective, but it isn't a part of striking.

I honestly think if McGregor stayed on the war path and didn't indulge in partying and rich people stuff as much he would've held that title. Buuut, coulda, woulda shoulda... Dustin has proven himself time and time again, so it's fair he gets to be called the best striking based lightweight ever.
That's part of the game though.

Dustin stayed a dedicated martial artist.
Conor got caught up in fame and distractions.

Poirier should take a hard fight now, Damir vs Arman winner, Fiziev, Dariush. No point in fighting Islam, he won't win.
High key disrespectful to say “Poirer should take a hard fight now”. The guy never takes easy fights. He has fought a who’s who of the best for years. The only debatable fights were Conor 2x and he did it for the money just like literally any prize fighter would do.

Meh. That might be a bit of a stretch. He has some great wins, and some glaring losses, in a time period when LW was and is kind of in a weird flux with a lack of elite talent. He's still dope and a lot more well rounded than people give him credit for sometimes.

Conor and his fans are the better MMA excuse makers.
You don't say !!!

Fizzy would be an awesome fight.

I have a feeling Dariush vs Poirier happens.

Chandler and Hooker were clearly the easiest fights he had available and he's been pretty intentful at safekeeping his status and rank without having to risk it much vs up and coming talent and deserves opportunity. And I say easy relatively speaking, because Hooker and Chandler are great fighters but Poirier has been very calculated about what risks he will take and not take. Even talked about taking fun fights and not going after the title after losing to Charles, now he's asking for a 3rd title shot after a war with old man Chandler.

It's the game and he gets to the play it while others don't but Chandler and Gaethje are a step below in terms of skills and abilities to a lot of these guys now and Hooker...yeah. it's meant to be a little crass of me, these guys can lose multiple title shots and think they never have to go back in line.

Dustin fanboys in here acting as though he didn't get 10-8'd

By Chandler

While grappling

And literally only won because he tried something dumb instead of just completing the takedown.

Easily the most overrated LW in history

You're acting like your boy Chandler didn't get submitted for the first time in his career.
That means the "10-8" round means absolutely nothing sir.

Thanks for the information though, it was illuminating.

I hope not but I guess we'll see.

Chandler is not my boy by any means but thanks for the poorly aimed assumption, it was refreshing

You know what, they should give him the title shot. It would be a thing of beauty to watch him fail under the spotlight and end up a broken, crumpled tear streaked mess again while the Champion is smiling in the background without a scratch on him for a third time

Poirier deserves whatever the hell that BMF title was supposed to represent.

He's a bad mother fucker man, him and chandler went to war. Also say whatever you want about chandler, but his fights are must watch. Dude came to the UFC to lay it all out there and get paid.

great point. I don’t think it can be overstated how entertaining the fights of all four of those guys: Poirier, Chandler, Gaethje, and Alvarez are. And what a cool thing that they’ve all fought each other.

And Poirier is arguably the best of them which is really high praise considering they are all legit.
