I also rather Alex fight Ank instead of this superfight nonsense.

Superfight used to mean something, might as well create a "Champ" division so they can have all their superfight without holding up multiple divisions.

Yeah but Dricus almost never immediately shoots. He goes for 1 or 2 takedowns per round and that's plenty of time for Alex to time him and knock him out.

I mean, we do MMA math Alex KO'd Sean in 1 round and beat the shit out of Izzy in both fights but Izzy is a legend and landed the KO shot in one of them. Alex at 205 is even better.

It's seriously hilarious how the narrative that Dricus is trash still continues after last night, I've even seen people saying Belal would beat him but the fact of the matter is he finishes both of them. He's big, dangerous, cam offensively and defensively grapple, huge power in his hands and a dangerous BJJ threat. Neither Belal or Alex has fought a fighter with his style or pace to pull off finishes in the later rounds against someone as seasoned as Izzy. I think he beats most fighters around his weight class above and below.

Bro Alex just knocked out Jamahal Hill on the first head strike he threw. He had Jiri shook in the 2nd fight and hesitant. Alex is a monster at 205.

Is it though? It seems like people struggle timing Dricus, and by the time they think they have his timing down, their arms are heavy and tired from fighting at his crazy pace. I'm not sure the few minutes before Dricus shoots is enough time for Alex to put dricus away, especially if dricus is religious with his high guard the way he usually is.

Still can't believe we're talking about this fight though. Do you think it will actually happen? I highly doubt it unless maybe Poatan loses his LHW belt and drops back to MW.

Dricus doesn't have the best defense in the world. He gets hit and he got busted up against Strickland and Izzy was hitting with some hard shots. Alex at 205 can do much worse damage. But like I said you can't ever count Dricus out.

Of course, although, I think dricus having bad defense is over stated to be honest. He guards his head really well and statistically has better defense than poatan. Sean was splitting dricus's guard with straight shots, but poatan isn't really known for that and is very hook heavy. Not to mention the one time Poatan faced anything close to a grappling threat against Jan, his striking was very underwhelming. I don't know man, with dricus's wrestling and being the much younger man, I don't like this match up for Poatan.

Poatan is also old and due to slow down any day now, where as dricus is arguably getting better every fight. If they ever fought, poatan would be like 38 or older....

To be fair decrepit undersized 45 year old Brunson rocked DDP multiple times… it’s not an age issue it’s a skill issue. DDP is a tough SOB who’s overachieved, he’s masked a lot of his defensive lapses simply toughing it out. It all ends up coming back to catch up to him eventually, Forrest Griffin is a perfect comp.


DDP would get slumped against an elite LHW striker. Guys like Bobby, losing streak Izzy, or Strickland don’t have the power in their hands to make him pay… forget Pereira, I don’t think DDP would make it out of a fight with guys down the pecking order like Hill or Ozedemir
