Dragon Sleeper: brutal neck crank ignored by fighters

you probably stated a big reason why you dont see it that much. guys barely do it, so they're not going to be able to pul it off well. Seems like the guy can turn into your guard too if you do it sloppy.

Most of the time when you don't see pro's going for subs it's because it's just not that good. You don't see guys like Gordon, Craig Jones or Meregali go for stuff like this.

But hey it's worth a shot, I'll try it in training on some good people

Sensei Seagal got you covered.

RNC are absurdly high % without with bare hands, but with gloves it can get annoying. It think the Sleeper can work as a last ditch move and at least tire the guy with a very uncomfortable situation.

Can't see that getting hit at a decent level tbf. I've watched a few of Neil's instructionals and I've tended to find his stuff you can hit on lower belts but not on more experienced guys
I'm half asleep and I already see problems with that one. Why is the fucker just laying flat taking it? No wedge or turning

I believe it would work better with back control, since the legs are restricting the opponent hips.

I think the problem with that is to get the torque to finish it it looks like you'd need to take your bottom hook out which is always risky. I think maybe it's something you could go for if you can't finish someone from the back and there's not long left and you're behind, but I dunno that even then it's higher percentage than swinging off for an armbar.

I teach it and call it the executioner guillotine. Justin radar use to hit it a bunch back in the day.
Niiiiice. So do you think it is more effective from back control or side/north-south?

yeah this, no hooks in, cant fully control the lower body, so they will turn into you when you go for it... probably works well on guys who just lay there and let you do it lol

This is obviously the move Master Fabia warned us about.

That shit aint working against competence

I think I like the RNC with an arm-in, which I use on unwilling competent people. I think it only works with monkey-armed folks but its effective

Kinda like this one, they block the traditional choke and you take the modified version. Its effective I think mma can use it with right guys

It's hard to pull off if you're opponent is a trained fighter who's actually fighting back...

This seems like a goon move. You need to be a lot stronger to get away with it. Why go for this move when you can set up for a darce or a north south choke?

North south chokes work, but they need some fine tuning, some people have an easy time with them, while others cant find a way to hit it.

Buuuuut I find the variation from the back more interesting since the opponent hips are already limited by the hooks.
