Dr Disrespect Banned From Twitch

I'm having trouble understanding why he was popular in the first place. Granted I know nothing other than what's been posted here, I get he is, or was, a streamer.

Back in the day I watched EpicNameBro. But that was long, long ago, and Marcus was just a nice guy who was good at Dark Souls. This guy looks like the youtube equivalent of McGregor.

Just a dumb gimmick. Macguyver spoof that played call of duty. Kids and teenagers loved his gimmick. I'm not sure how a grown man would be a fan though.

A little different than texting unless he really got filthy with it.

Kick has a content creator problem of attracting and elevating the wrong type of popular streamers. Believe theyll draw a line in the sand here. Being they are subsidized by a casino. Doubtful theyll be interested in opening themselves up to criticism for soliciting :eek::eek::eek:phile sympathizers onto the platform.

Comparing Doc to Jared Fogle is like comparing an MMA fighter to Jeffrey Dahmer. Unless Docs got some shit that hasn't been made public, he's not in the same stratosphere as Fogle.
True, but once you cross that line in any way whatsoever, you get that label. One of the MANY reasons you don't mess around with kids in any sexual way at all. Ain't gonna be no public opinion survey to deem what you did as 1st, 2nd, or 3rd degree child sexual exploitation/assault/harassment, that lets you off the hook. You just get lumped in with the rest of the diddlers, and get tossed aside by society.

Don't sext kids, folks.

Oddly enough one of the sleaze balls that got banned off Kick and Twitch just got reinstated by Twitch

What are you talking about, Gear? That article @offshore33 shared was the first thing we've seen from an official news source that clarified the most important two details that had gone unanswered. He emboldened all the key passages.
  1. Was Doc "sexting" her? Not just flirting, which could be the most innocent interpretation of "veering into the inappropriate", but was he sending her outright sexually explicit messages?
  2. More importantly, did he know she was a minor, and did he continue the above knowing this?

The answer to both was yes. Stick a fork in him. Doc's done as a public personality.
Are the texts out? How do you know with regards to number one.

I'm guessing he has fired his PR team, or they have all quit.

it'll be interesting to see if he can make a comeback. Usually once you're canceled, it's all over.

What streaming service is going to host him? I'm guessing either Kick or whatever Musk is creating. The backlash wouldn't be worth it.

Interesting that he doesn’t want to back down. Usually when a scandal like this happens the person drops off the face of the Earth but he doesn’t seem willing to go quietly into the night

As for the content of his “addressing the allegations” he doesn’t really seem to be providing any real new substantive information, once again emphasizing that what he did wasn’t illegal, when I think the standard being applied is not whether it was illegal, but rather whether it was appropriate.

The only confusing part is he’s now saying the person wasn’t a minor, when previously his written statement on it said they were. So not sure what to make of that.

Doesnt he mention age of consent "in the jurisdiction" of wherever the person was? I could see him not knowing at the time that say, shes 16 and wherever she lives 16 is the age of consent. And now that he does, that'll be the talking point.

If you guys followed it, he was allegedly sending inappropriate messages to a minor and it was then later found out that wasn't the case according to him. He got paid out and contract was done.
