i dont see what your first point has to do with anything. anyone who assaults someone like this deserves serious punishment.
The point I am saying is that people assault each other all the time (yes it's wrong), so i dont want a crackheads life ruined over this, just as i dont want a drunk 19 year old college student's, or a "rich douche's". IF this is the guy's first offense, then i believe he should be tried as per the justice system and not by online vigilantes.
my biggest gripe with him is the assault. his douchiness and his status are secnodary.
well this is good, because to me, it came off as you being extra happy because he was born with a silver spoon.
No, i dont think he would have gotten off with no punishment had charges been pressed. charges were not pressed. i see no issue with social punishment of such behavior, and think financial punishment to some degree is perfectly acceptable, regardless of his financial status. (i dont think this guy should be blacklisted from all companies for the rest of his life. but if his ability to get hired was similar to that of someone who has a felony on record, id be fine with it.)
If the employee did not want to press charges, then that is on him. I have no issue with him having a record, and whatever challenges come with that. What i dont like is people's personal info being released. It is already EXTREMELY easy to find where people live and work if you have their full name, especially in this case where it is this unique.
I think you are underestimating the power of social media. Unless this guy works a blue collar job, (highly doubt that), he is going to have a hell of a time getting hired. Even before the security check, people will do a quick Google search and see this. Hell, even i wouldn't hire him for PR reasons alone, and people think i am personally defending him in this thread!
his name being blasted is not an equalizer against people with money. it is a social punishment for his criminal behavior that i find perfectly acceptable. this is where we differ
