Double Standards Here

Its not a double standard on the part pf the ufc. Hendo ismt known for late shots,he hadmt been suspemded for it in the past, plus the ref hadn't jumped in yet. I agree there is a double standard with the fans pov. Its cool when hendo blasts a loudmouth like bisbing, not cool when paul harris goes too far. Either way that's life dude. If you expect everyone to be treated the same then your naive .

He purposely superman punched an unconscious fighter to "shut him up". Forget rules for a second. What the OP is saying is that many people were ecstatic after that Bisping KO, and they have used it to mock Bisping for years. For some of these same people to turn around and be disgusted by Palhares is rank hypocrisy. Surely you must see that.

Rules aside, either pressing the attack on a helpless opponent is something that excites fans, or something that repulses fans. To pretend its ok in cases where we all hate the fighter getting hurt, makes us just as bad as Palhares.

What Hendo did was Prior to ref stopping the fight , what Palhares did was AFTER the ref stopping the fight .
Same as Daley , same as Babalu .
Surely you must see that it's not a double standard , one being legal , the other beign illegal done by a multiple time repeat offender .

He still admitted he knew that Bisping was out. What difference does it make in the grand scheme of things? He knew Bisping was out and wanted to land one more punch before the ref got there. The fight was over, Henderson knew it, it just hadn't been called yet. It's not like he was worried about Bisping getting back up. The intention there was to land a huge punch on an unconscious fighter. That's a despicable thing to do and no amount of trash talking can justify that.

And he used TRT to do it. :D

Everyone someone posts that gif and laughs at it they're celebrating a moment of extremely poor sportsmanship that could have set the sport back a long way.

Repeat offender + PED abuser is why he got banned not suspended. Should be lucky he got so many chances, babalu & Daley were gone after one.

HAHA. Only the sherdog geeks who never grapple are mad Palhares got cut. The guy does this garbage over and over. Maybe you geeks can start a twitter petition. Maybe Burkman will KO this guy in WSOF.

was despicable indeed but Legal (and he wasn't on TRT vs Bisping)
What Palhares did was despicable (each times he did) and Illegal (each times he did) .
Again no double standard , just different situations .

People keep saying this, and they have no clue what they're talking about. Taking a full power shot from a professional fighter when you're unconscious could give you permanent brain damage. A person could die from that. Sure, it didn't happened in the instances mentioned, but that's not the point. Palhares was fired based on what COULD have happened to his opponents.

taking a full power shot?? yea its not likely going to happen in a fight. a "full power shot from a professional" is something like what David Blain took against Kimbo. to use Hendo as an example... he was moving and even though that second shot was brutal, it wasnt like he lined up, took a few practice swings and then threw, it was in the moment and probably landed at 60-70 percent.

At the end of the day I would rather take that second Hendo punch then let someone twist my knee for 1 second longer after I tapped and the ref jumped in to stop the fight.

agree with TS completely, sherdoggers are a fickle bunch

Palhares is innocent

Hendo stopped immediately when the ref stepped in

Paul Harris did not

It doesn't matter if he knew Bisping was out. It's on him to end his assault immediately when the ref steps in. Paul harris continued fighting after the ref stepped in

Disgusting. Bunch of dirty, shameless hypocrites.

with palhares's case, he does it ALL the time. true hendo's punch was late but he got there before the ref and landed a punch. rampage's punch was LATE and he should've been penalized. pride was CRAZY and known for VERY LATE stoppages. a good example would be fujita vs wandy.

But people are saying that palhares should have let go before the ref after pierce tapped so that would be equivalent to hendo stopping before the ref and after bisping was already out cold

No, people are saying he should have let go of the hold without the ref having to pry him off. Hendo stopped immediately once the ref stepped in
