Looking how Jones had to beef up 50 pounds over 3 years to fight in the HW division and very few people dare to do this in the UFC,, I appreciate Tyson so much more as small HW who basically weighed in at around 220 on fight night, which is what the LHWs now coming in at. And he fought these guys who were monsters compared to him and KOed most of them.

I personally have a much deeper appreciation for him and still can't think of anyone in combat sports who is more exciting.

i thought he fought at 210?

He was usually around 215 or so in his prime and he WAS a fucking killer

Francis reminds me of Tyson in a way
Massive monster who was feared by everyone and knocked people dead on such short time

I don't give a fuck who wins in a fight, obviously Jones has more weapons, but a prime Tyson would frighten me much more

Also a street fight isn't like a an MMA/boxing fight and it really is in the heat of the moment. I guarantee Mike has had WAY more street fights than Jon

Do you still don't know how weight and cutting works?

Mike Tyson had the easiest strength of schedule of any elite combat sports fighter in history, tbh.

He was the ultimate can crusher, but his style and the timing of his run was the perfect storm for making him an icon.

If he was fighting right now, he’d have a bunch of haters all over social media complaining about his can crushing.

90% of street fights without weapons that I see in crazyshit are just punching and grabbing each others clothes so they can make them fall to the ground where they can start throwing soccer kicks on them. So it's basically boxing and wrestling by people that have no idea how to box and wrestle. Mike knows how to box, doesn't know how to wrestle. Jones knows how to do both. Even if he has "experience", he is at a disadvantage.

Marciano was like 185, no?

Wilder normally comes in at 215, no?

Lots of HW boxing champs weren’t exactly giants.

And LOL at gaining 50 pounds. Half at that at most.

VERY different era but yeah, Marciano came in around 185 for his biggest fights.

Marciano would likely have to fight at LHW (175) or super MW (167) in today's boxing world... and he would still have consistent reach disadvantage at those weight classes.

Wilder was 212, then 228 and 237 for the Fury fights.
His best performance was at 212.

I'm sure Mike knows what to do in a street fight and like I said, I don't care about a childish debate about MMA v Boxing, I still find a prime Mike much more frightening than Jon or any mma fighter

I get what you're trying to say but it's not really a fair comparison. MMA has a lot more to do with body weight because of the grappling aspect of the sport then boxing does when all you're doing is punching and hugging.

Marciano wasn't fighting guys the size of Frank Bruno tbf sir.

Fair enough. I found Rumble more frightening than Jones. Didn't mean I thought he would beat Jones though.
