Dont Hear Much About Spain

Hard to know exactly.

Prior to the Romans the Spanish people probably were very white looking like French people as central European people did come into Spain prior to Romans. Now the Romans themselves would have been mostly very white looking themselves. Then after Rome fell the Visigoths conquered Spain and they were white Germanic people. The Moors who were Arabs, came in when a civil war broke out among the Visigoths and conquered Spain but Berbers also came with them them who many of were white people too. Then later the Vikings began to raid Spain too and Christians who were mostly white as well. Then Arabs again.

The Spanish that went to the Americas were pretty similar genetically to the Spanish people today. But there was a constant influx of Caucasian and Arab genetics going back and forth in Spain once Rome fell. So while there's definitely an Arab influence genetically, it's relatively small compared to the total genetics. They were white genetically before Rome fell , added in some Arab genetics but also added in more white genetics along the way too. By time they went to the Americas they were pretty white looking while tending to be darker eyed and darker haired and not so pale.

I mean even today if you showed a picture of some Spanish people to a wide range of people they would probably tell you they're white people just looking at them. Sort of like not all black people have the same tone and some Arab people even look kinda white. There are variations. Heck, Native people here in the US definitely look different deepening on the tribe.
“Sir! They don’t look Spanish to me…”

The Spanish broke my people for hundreds of years.

Then the white man finished the job…

1680 was a great year though, good times.
That s going to go great i can sense it

Well the Spanish were very much white when they came to the Americas. That's part of the reason for the variation in people south of the border. Even historical texts of the time do not indicate that other Europeans noticed anything different about them than other Europeans. Other people the did mention differences in appearances.

Interesting,

A Dumb Shit,,,

This is what the world is afraid of?

I went to Spain once -- very fun and vibrant place. I felt the food was mediocre at best (lukewarm deli meats and a lot of mayo), but enjoyed myself a lot. I've attached a photo I took while I was there.
Imo proper spanish food is amazing. To me, possibly the best euro food i think.
Bad spanish food at tourist spots? Dog food, like really bad.

I'm sure I just went to bad spots lmao I ate at the hotel I was at and some random ass spots -- I was only there for a couple days. I'm sure the food is great.

They have north African dna too like morrocan and algerian so I wouldn't call them completely white.
Lol, this must be like the 10th time I've read this in here. Not true.

Actually, kinda is true but it's not in the amounts people think. Like 3% of the DNA, maybe. and actually most of that DNA is Arabs to the East. And Arabs certainly spread genetics to Moroccans and Algerians at some point prior to Spain.

Spanish people are white people, period. Just like Italians from Sicily are white. Just like Portuguese are white. Genetically and cultually they are white. I don't even know what you are trying to get at.

i think the person is trying to get to the fact that, "white" in terms of looks varies widely depending on the person. as an example, an extremely pale scottish woman looks nothing like a much darker woman from the south of greece, let's say. though based on the definition of many, both would still be considered white. based on the definition of some they are the same, but no one who isn't blind doesn't see a drastic difference.

Sure, and there are variations in how Arab people look. There are differences in how different tribes look. Asians from Japan and China have differences as do Filipinos. But they are a common race.

Genetically and culturally there is a lot more in common with "white" people for Spaniards than anyone else and it's not close.

Heck, my great grandfather was from Salerno and had pretty dark olive skin and an afro. So I get what people mean but even Sicilians like that are white from a scientific point of view.

1) in the world, sadly
2) GDP is fine, it's the fourth economy in the EU. It's the GDP per capita which is not so great.

Oh you're right, the entire world!

GDP may be fourth but it has 1/2 the size of France and 1/3 of Germany, so it won't be packing a big punch for its weight. I think that is a factor politically.

Beautiful country with seriously great food but the service sucks compared to the US

That took some getting used to, but once you 'get it' it's not so bad.

You can sit there waiting for another drink, or the bill, or whatever forever and initially this is very frustrating when you are used to someone coming around and attending you like in North America. But once you get that they leave you alone and only come when you catch their attention then you don't sit there waiting you just have to actively draw them in.

yeah, doesn't matter the size of the country, both France (17+ more million inhabitants) and Germany (almost double the population) are way more populated than Spain. Spain has some certain areas which have insanely low density of population (the celtiberic serrania is known as the Spanish Lapland). Vast areas with very few if any resources also.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_European_countries_by_population
Now if you check the first four members of the UE in the list, they are the same in the top 4 GDP in Europe, not a coincidence. Same order: Germany, France, Italy and Spain. (Even UK which I did not take in consideration since brexit, places second in both lists)

you got this mostly right:

- Prior to romans there were mainly celtas (celts), iberos and celtiberos. Yes, they were white, but it's the celtas who were closely related to the gauls and even britons and irish. Iberos were white as well, but their origin is mostly unknown and suspect to be natives from Spain, unlike the celtas who were tribes who were all Hallstatt nomads.
- The moors who came first to the peninsula were the Ummayad califate which consisted mainly of berbers; arabs came later and in fewer numbers;there was almost no mixing of Spanish natives and arabs because of huge religious/cultural differences. And after the Reconquista was complete, most of the moriscos were kicked off the country. To this day the percentage of northern african dna in Spain can range from 11% in the south to almost 0% in the northern regions.
-The influence of viking raids in Spain is near negligible: They unsuccessfully tried first to raid some areas in the North and then they moved all the way down to Sevilla, which they managed to sack. They took their loot and fucked right off.
