It's the second most visited country in Europe after France so it's not like it's some hidden gem.

I was actually there a few weeks ago and can confirm it's still a nice place.

As far as making news and such, Spain's GDP isn't great so they wont be as influential politically

I know a couple of people who moved to Spain for early retirement .

It's a pretty popular place for tourism to a point where the locals are pissed off

If I'm unable to retire in the US, Spain and Thailand are at the top of my list

it's a real place, dude. try staying around the plaza mayor. that's where lots of the young people go to party and good restaurants, etc. i stayed on the gran via and found a good deal on a hotel at like one of the highest floors. awesome corner view of the plaza and the nearby parks.

Looks like my hotel is an 8 minute walk away

I always wanted to go to Malaga less criminals there. seems like Madrid and barcelona have more pickpockets and crime due to the the gypsy folks and migrants who are into those organized crimes.

i'm not spanish, though i speak spanish. i've been to spain four times. it's a great place. the people can be a bit hard to get to know if you don't speak the language. lots of things to see and do. it's a very varied country as well. the north is vastly different to the south. the food is great, especially the seafood. if you're around during the time, definitely go to the running of the bulls in pamplona in the north. it's also in basque country, so that's cool to experience since it's different to the rest of the country. my mom's last name is actually basque, which is kinda cool.

Only been to Barcelona. It’s fun. Cool people. Filled with white people and white people speaking Spanish, so depending on where you’re from, that’s a double whammy

Yeah, I wouldn't go to Barcelona if what Im looking for is white people. It's been a shithole for the last 20 years and only getting worse

Got bad news for you mate, Malaga is nearly as bad as the big two. The south just sucks; just one big tourist trap and filled with africans. If what you look for is safe places the north west is the way to go. Also nicer, cleaner, way more polite people, better food and vastly superior landscapes.
You can also try in the plains but what the fuck would you want to do there? There's a reason over 70% of the population lives in the coastal area.

2) GDP is fine, it's the fourth economy in the EU. It's the GDP per capita which is not so great.

Too crowded, too dirty, ridiculously overpriced, overrun with migrants, crime, traffic & public transport issues,...

Spain are quite a peculiar culture. People love going but there’s a reason they leave. It’s a massive pop culture country as well due to their superstars and football teams. I think crime is done in the hush a lot of the time

I guess compared to france, italy, GB, Spain isn't very noteworthy today. I don't hear a lot about it but it's got a super rich history and it's language is probably spoken by more folks than our mother countries' is, I'm not sure about that though. Is the spanish speaking portion of our hemisphere more populated than canada and america?

1. Recently on the news, the locals there were anti-tourism, which really seems immature and dumb because if that's what drives your economy, what do you think should take tourism's place? Do you expect Santa Claus to give you spending money?

2. Two separate nude beach volleyball videos had the same very hot, very fit fully nude woman and in one video, you could see the name of the resort or restaurant and I think it's in Spain.
