Donald Trump risks China rift with Taiwan call

Look at the way you're overreacting to such a small thing. It's causing you to state your opinion as fact. You're assuming Trump didn't know while Trump supporters assume he doesn't care.

In the end do you really see this as some large scale mishap? Tell me specifically the ramifications from this. And spare me the "china will be mad" 1st grader political synopsis.
So when the president elect shows zero knowledge of foreign policy YET AGAIN, we should all just ignore that and act like it's not a problem?

Sorry if I'm not as ignorant as you Trump worshippers.

If it was such a small thing, why is it the first time it happened in several decades? Which of course includes plenty of your favorite presidents, like Regan?

I love how you're like "oh, China might be mad, so what". That's elementary school level diplomacy you dipshit.

Is that what you expect of your president?

And if you're going to act like he knew what he was doing when he took that call and said what he did, you need to brush up on Trump's "amazing" policy knowledge.

Trump clearly had no idea that he insulted the Chinese here. He already tweeted about how he "just took a call", and we know that Twitter is the only true platform we have from him because he's so sophisticated.

Trump is a loudmouthed child, and needs to be treated as such. God willing they'll get a responsible Secretary of State in there before Trump pisses off all of our political alliances and/or agreements.

You can't really blame Trump though....the same as you can't blame a toddler. They just don't know better.

The level of balls on china...reportedly ringing whitehouse for apology over this!
Id say the chinese better grow thicker skin over the next 4 years

lol someone take his twitter away haha
soon he's going to start tweeting about:

israel nuclear arsenal
merkel being a 2, would not bang

Intro to future global crisis documentary:

"It all started with a tweet."

He just directly contradicted and compromised US foreign policy without consulting the state department or the sitting president/government.
Good, Taiwan has always been an eyesore to China, and it's a double fist in the vag to make them loose face by even giving them a phone call when everyone else doesn't want to stir the China pot says, "fuck you Taiwan, we're with China".

I wish Sweden would have done the same instead they recognized Palestine back in 2014.

Yeah, Hitler did some fucked up things but anyone who read Mein Kampf knows he honestly believed Germany would be destroyed by communism if he didn't.

He was a WW1 vet, so it's easy to place blame in hindsight. If you look at it from his perspective it makes sense. And he did some amazing things, economically speaking. Was on the cover of Time.

Let's see how the fascist policies work. At the end of four years, we may end up in better shape than we were at the start. I expect that to be the case.

On the flip side, it turns out leftists may end up destroying Germany after all.

The "on the flip side" doesn't really work when he actually destroyed Germany himself.

If he didn't do anything, what's happening now would've just happened earlier. He tried to save Europe from the Marxists. It didn't work.

This was the first news story I read today and I was LOLing. China is rustled by this LOL

Clearly he didn't have to. Communism failed, anarchy has never been an issue and the only thing that's still present to any relevant extent is social democracy. Europe grew strong economically and became the home of the countries that have consistently been seen as the least corrupt, have the happiest populations, etc for a long time. As much as WR posters like to jump on Germany they are in a better state than both the US and Russia.

Trump Speaks With Taiwan’s Leader, a Likely Affront to China
http://www.nytimes.com/2016/12/02/u...-leader-a-possible-affront-to-china.html?_r=0

WASHINGTON — President-elect Donald J. Trump spoke by telephone with Taiwan’s president on Friday, a striking break with nearly four decades of diplomatic practice that could precipitate a major rift with China even before Mr. Trump takes office.

Mr. Trump’s office said he spoke with the Taiwanese president, Tsai Ing-wen, “who offered her congratulations.”

He is believed to be the first president or president-elect who has spoken to a Taiwanese leader since 1979, when the United States severed diplomatic ties with Taiwan after its recognition of the People’s Republic of China.

In the statement, Mr. Trump’s office said the two leaders noted that “close economic, political, and security ties” exist between Taiwan and the United States. The statement also said Mr. Trump “congratulated President Tsai on becoming president of Taiwan earlier this year.”

The White House was not told about Mr. Trump’s call until after it happened, according to a senior administration official. The official spoke on ground rules of anonymity to discuss sensitive diplomatic relations.

But the potential fallout from the conversation was significant, the administration official said, noting that the Chinese government issued a bitter protest after the United States sold weapons to Taiwan as part of a well-established arms agreement.

Mr. Trump’s call with President Tsai is a far bigger provocation, though the Chinese government did not issue an immediate response. Beijing views Taiwan as a breakaway province and has adamantly opposed the attempts of any country to open official relations with it.

OH SHIT.

He talked on the phone with someone? Is it really 'believed' that no president has talked to them since 1979? Dude has to be the antichrist.

What is this guy doing?

Worst president-elect ever.

They are probably going to call together an emergency communist session to discuss this international disaster.

What is next? Trump facebooks a smiley emote at the leader of Iceland? The horror!

My favorite part was when you said

You really believe that?

Had not done Adolf anything about it, germany would have ended a communist shithole flor decades.
Not sure he destroyed Germany more than the allies policies.
Feel sorry for Those 4 million german POW, the ones americans killed by starvation and stalin by torture and forced labour....

We will see who has the last laugh. I don't think their prosperity and happiness (at least for people of German descent) will last but a few more generations. As a matter of fact, looking at the birth rates of the people like this (coupled with flooding immigration) and the people of German descent, their grandchildren aren't going to be in charge of their own country. They are handing the future of their future grandchildren to people that want them to convert to Islam or die.

Let's look back on this in 50 years and see if the wall and "extreme vetting" was a bad idea. I have no doubt the effects of migration right now are minor, at least in comparison to what your progeny (that is if you do reproduce) will experience.

Honestly, I hate to see these countries destroyed but it's an interesting experiment. Just glad we aren't the guinea pigs in the U.S. ;)

This is what the inheritors of Germany think about Germans:

"Besides planning an assault on toddlers, Ö asked his fellow jihadist’s opinion if it is ok, pursuant to the norms of Islam, to rape daughters of the “unfaithful,” that is those who do not belong to the Muslim faith, “because you can rape sex slaves,” he wrote further, as cited by Die Welt."

50 years from now history books will say WW3 was started by Trump calling Taiwan and saying "hi."

This is just part of the art of the deal, Trump knows exactly what he is doing.

Wang Yi plays down the Trump-Tsai call as a "small action", will not change bedrock of the "One China" policy governing Sino-U.S. relations.

More importantly, Wang Yi says it's a "small action" from Taiwan. Doesn't call Trump out.

China bends the knee already

Yeah, the only road that didn't lead to communism was a party that not only started a world war but also had genocidal ideas and in parts weird occultist aspects. Hitler left Germany in ruins, both physically and in the idea of them as a nation.

I'm certainly not one to say that no positive things were done with Germany during that time. That's quite apparent given how they could rise to challenge the world from the state they were in. That doesn't change that it's altering history to a large degree to say that it was either the all out Nazi world war line or communism.
