Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has warned that China poses an "imminent" threat to Taiwan, urging Asian nations to increase their defence spending and collaborate with the United States to prevent conflict.
Speaking at the Shangri-la Dialogue—a prominent annual defence summit in Singapore attended by top Asian military officials—Hegseth insisted that while the US does not "seek to dominate or strangle China," it would not retreat from Asia nor permit intimidation of its regional allies.

Nobody can threaten our allies! We want to do that ourselves, when we threaten to invade Canada and Greenland...

Chinese are more expendable than Russians to a dictators eye. I wouldn’t bank on this
There were fears fifteen years ago that a natural disaster in the heart of China would have caused a coup because so many people lost their only kid and were too old to have another

It was an earthquake, but i forget exactly where in China it was

A lot of younger Chinese simply don't want children or to get married. It's increasingly common.

Would those be drafted?

I'm thinking about how the current 18-30 year old is an only child

I don’t think they are in a position to sustain heavy losses and potentially kick off a world war over Taiwan at this point in time.

At this point the risk for them far outweighs the reward.

Honestly, I don't think any country is ready for that. It reminds me of the last scene in "The Thing". They are both spent, and not in a position to attack.

Yeah, I just shifted that conversation to the best scene ever put on film.

I don’t think they will, but I would get them seeing this as an opportunity with a taco President and a sec def that group chats anyone his plans before they happen

Yeah. Why did Eggseth not posted this in my dickscord server?

But on a serious note. I know I know Trump and his lackeys et all are not liked very much but I would not dismiss this.

In 2022 the Biden addmin warned about the Russian takeover of Kyiv and it happened.

Furthermore pressident Xi I mean my future President promissed he will get Taipei.

The Chinese Militar are amassing largr amphbious taskforce tailored fit to take on the Taiwan straights.
