It's not done yet. Sentencing in these types of cases usually takes months. Merchan is going to do it in weeks, just before the Republican Convention. I assume however, that Merchan will sentence zero time as all the Democratic Party wanted was the headline and thoughtless people celebrating to charge the Left Cult base. I think it's not like a chess game in the sense that Candidate X didn't "beat" Candidate Y as much as the people--rightly or wrongly--chose one of them. So we all collectively put him in that position. I personally opposed him, but you gotta wonder if you could have done something more. And I think I'd have similar feelings if I were German in the '30s. Like, I voted for the other guy, but could I have done something more. I'd probably have relatives, friends, and acquaintances on the other side (as I did with Trump). Could I have influenced them? Not sure.

I don't see why that can't be extended, though. Candidate X can't be credited for defeating Y because it's about people choosing one over the other. You, or anyone, can't be discredited for not convincing others to vote correctly, because it's about people choosing various precepts probably far ahead of time instead of it being a strategy game where pushing certain buttons yields victory. By all means, if you want to feel sad or even culpable for Trump. Though I genuinely cannot see the merit in it, and feel obligated to recommend against it.
