Also his 'drain the swamp' shtick seems to be still working with these Republicans, who are either too dumb or brainwashed to critically think and realize Trump has some of the most swamp characters in his administration (Barr, Pompeo, Kushner, etc.)

ASSUMPTION: No rational American operating on full information would want a person who was fairly convicted of a crime to serve as President.

FACTS:

1. Roughly half of America thinks Trump is a criminal whom the criminal justice system has treated fairly ("POV #1").
2. Roughly half of America thinks Trump is an innocent patriot who is being railroaded by fascists in a series of Stalinist show trials ("POV #2").
3. The American mass media heavily favors POV #1.
4. Most Americans form their political opinions based on the mass media.
5. POV #1 and POV #2 cannot both be right.

CONCLUSIONS:

(i) Given the opening assumption, half of America must be brainwashed regarding the Trump trials, as the huge divergence in opinions can only be explained by one half of America having bad information.
(ii) Brainwashing occurs in modern society through the mass media providing bad information.
(iii) The holders of POV #1 are brainwashed.
(iv) Democrats are brainwashed.

It didn't have anything to do with taxes, or banks, or any financial gain, and there wasn't actually any victim. The NDA itself is perfectly legal, and so was the thing it was supposed to "cover up" obviously since having sex with randos was literally her job, the crime that was implied but not directly alleged is that Trump spending his own money should have been recorded as a contribution to his own campaign rather than recorded the same way anybody else would record the same arrangement.


So for example, Bill Clinton paid Paula Jones $850k to drop her sexual harassment lawsuit because when she was a state employee and he was governor, he had a state trooper send her to his hotel room and then whipped is dick out on her and attempted to rape her, but he paid her off when he was already in office, so it qualifies as a "legal expense".

Trump was already in office when the payments were recorded, but the payments themselves were made in 2016, so they are saying that it should have been recorded as a campaign expense rather than how it would have been recorded if the payments were made 1 year earlier or 6 months later.

Are they trying to get him elected? I dont understand what they thought they'd gain from this other then some PR.

Well technically they're trying to jail an old man to rig the election, but the justification is that running for office against a democrat requires a different filing for the exact same action or expense you could make under any other circumstance.

According to Trump and his legal team, there was no personal secret. He didn't have sex with Stormy and paid her 130k to keep quiet about that. 🤡
