Media Dominick Reyes KO Nikita Krylov GIFS

I might agree with you, but POTN is not about the quality of the opponent you finish.
It's about the finish... and Reyes' finish was better. It was a cold one punch KO that you rarely see.

Also, dude, Chandler is 2-5 in UFC. If Krylov is a journeyman, what is Chandler in UFC? One of his two wins is 0-8 Tony.
Bryce is 2-3 in his last 5 fights. He lost to good competition, though.

Krylov lost to:
Jan - champion
Glover - champion
Ank - champion
Reyes - champion (he beat Jones, fuck the judges)
Paul Craig - a guy who could have submitted anyone a few years ago

Come on, fam! :)

It's not strictly about the finish. It's not KO of the night bonus anymore. It's Performance of the night.

I'd love to see a jiri rematch as a title eliminator. Most only remember the spinning back elbow brutal finish. But Dom had jiri legit rocked with an up kick too. And I think Dom is in a much better head space for it this time around as he was self admittedly still dwelling on the jones decision not going his way and feeling wronged because of it.

If it isn't strickly about the finish, how did Kennedy Nzechukwu get a POTN for finishing Brzeski at UFC 310?
Brzeski having a record of 9-6 and being 1-5 in UFC.

And I can offer you many other examples.
Guys from prelims get POTN for finishing cans.

It is about the finish.

Reasonable point, but I disagree. A .500 fighter in a low roster depth division, that hasn't fought in 2 years, running face first into a punch?

That is nowhere near as impressive as the other two performances.

Chandler has literally been fighting the best fighters in the world. The best guys mop the floor with the guys who mop the floor with Krylov.

He's .500 in the UFC and can't compete with ranked fighters. He's so bad he just lost to... Dom Reyes. Thats how bad he is.

Again, it's not about the quality of the fighter.
Kennedy Nzechukwu def. Łukasz Brzeski, a guy who was 1-5 in UFC
Got a POTN

I agree about Chandler fighting the best, but he lost to all of them.
Krylov also fought the best.
He lost to all of them.

exactly like mcgregor aldo
No.
Aldo and McGregor landed punches SIMULTANEOUSLY. Aldo landed a punch that cut McGregor on the left side of his face by his eye at the same time McGregor landed his left on Aldo's chin. Had Aldo landed a little lower there was a damn could chance we could've seen the first double knock out in the UFC.

It's about the finish. It's about the performance. It's about if they like the fighter. It's about what else happened on the card. It's about a lot of things.

That doesn't happen on a card where you have guys like Silva putting up a world class performance and stoppage over a top 15 opponent. Use some context here.

Of course quality of the fighter matters.

He lost to all of them.

Not even close. Jon Jones was the world champion from 2018-2020 and had 4 fights in that period after Krylov was signed. Krylov was losing to the guys who lose to the guys. Thats why he could never earn the opportunity to fight the best.

Jiri went undefeated over that time frame, and he didn't fight him of course, and Poatan has been champion from 2023 through spring 2025.

What are we even talking about? Krylov is a .500 jabroni and isn't a big win, he was out for two years and he ran like a moron into a punch by another guy with a bad record.

Dude, I am not saying Krylov is a very good fighter. But neither is Chandler.
"he ran like a moron into a punch" - wow, unlike Chandler, who has one of the worst fight IQs in the rankings by lunging into punches.
Aldo ran into that punch also vs McGregor.

Krylov is 11-8 in UFC.
Chandler is 2-5 in UFC.
Yes, Chandler fought top fighters... and lost to all 5 of them.

My point stands: a pure KO should matter at least the same as a good TKO and Reyes deserved a POTN.

My bias might be showing but I don't see that fight going any different a 2nd time

I like Reyes too, I don't want to see him get scrambled like that again
