Elections DOGE is formed

Unless there's no means to investigate it from inside the Social Security Office, and whom runs it is on the take.

That lady that just quit? I'd be very interested in meaning if she has money in offshore bank accounts.

And no, I'm not implying she has trillions, but IF a FRACTION of what Elon is saying is true its still a massive amount of theft unheard of in any point in history.
How many people do you think split what, a trillion stolen SS dollars?

What did you think they put on their tax returns? Bonus from the government?

Sorry to reply again so quickly, but this has to be nonsense. The federal budget for a year is about 6.5 trillion. We’re supposed to believe almost 5 trillion of our revenue is untraceable? Every year? Seems impossible, or we’d be accumulating debt at a wayyyy faster rate than we are.
You can reply as quick as you want, you have a Fedor Av.

It does seem impossible. Or maybe it just means the federal governments spending habits are a mess, random and no supervision. Some money went where it was supposed to go, some didn't. It is untraceable, no records were kept.

I personally got audited by the irs. They made me trace every transaction over a 3 year period multiple ways. The Fed is now being audited, and they have no records to back things up.

Here's How Much DOGE Has Saved Us So Far, Plus Big Scandal They Uncovered With $4.7 Trillion in Payments

DOGE has been doing a bang-up job to cut fraud, waste, and abuse in the federal government, made more challenging by hysterical Democrats trying to stand in their way and lying about what they are doing.

They've found money. They're also looking into crazy things -- like millions of active social security numbers for people over 120 years old -- that are indicative of problems in the system.

"The Treasury Access Symbol (TAS) is an identification code linking a Treasury payment to a budget line item (standard financial process)," DOGE wrote in a post on X. "In the Federal Government, the TAS field was optional for ~$4.7 Trillion in payments and was often left blank, making traceability almost impossible. As of Saturday, this is now a required field, increasing insight into where money is actually going."

The agency thanked the U.S. Treasury for their work in identifying the optional field.

So, that looks like you could have had money--part of $4.7 trillion--going out with no idea where it was going.

Why would you have such a thing be optional? And how much of that money may have gone where it should not have gone and been misused, if you can't trace it? How much could have been funneled off? Just wild that this existed and one has to wonder if not following standard financial process was deliberate.

It shows they haven't given a darn about taking care of our money. And Democrats want to question Elon? Question all the "unelected bureaucrats" who left this in such a state as well as our government, who should have been doing their job. No wonder they didn't want him looking into this.

Musk congratulated the DOGE team, the Federal Reserve, and the Treasury officials for making this discovery.

On top of that, DOGE has now posted on their official website that they've saved $55 billion from:

"fraud detection/deletion, contract/lease cancellations, contract/lease renegotiations, asset sales, grant cancellations, workforce reductions, programmatic changes, and regulatory savings."
The website also lists a "wall of receipts" of all the items to which the monetary savings pertain. So, if the Democrats say there are no receipts, bull cookies, send them to the website.

This is a great thing, and thank you so much to all the folks involved getting this done.

For the same reason CEOs and companies often provide a per diem or stipend and don't ask them to document every single purchase. People are very lazy, even when they are in positions where they shouldn't be. I suspect a lot of that money will be traceable, but we'll have to wait for Musk and company to actually provide evidence instead of just tweets.

You're acting like Social Security cannot possibly be gamed from inside the Social Security Office itself.

No.

I'm saying that Elon's claim that social security was still being paid out to dead people if false. And it was very obviously false.

Social Security pays out lump sums when someone dies. Always has. So you would never have continuing payments for decades like he said. That was the very first clue that his claim made no sense.

The obvious mistake was that he identified payments to dependents as fraud. Payments made to dependents will sill be listed under the SSN of the decedent. For the very obvious reason that the dependent is likely paying into their own social security over the course of their lifetime.

These are very basic things that everyone in the office knew and immediately pointed out. Elon didn't know it because he has zero experience in the organization. Apparently, anything that looks weird he just flags as waste and runs to the right-wing press. And then you guys eat their shit without thinking. And you spit it up back here. This dance is getting old.

{<hhh]

Dead people can't be paid out money, because they're dead.
So yes, Elon is claiming exactly that.

Do you understand what Cobol is and it's limitations?
I don't think you do and just repeating a talking point somewhere. Banks use it, its limits are set by the dev/programmer staff.. It should revert to zero with truncation/ overflow errors..

And when was this database created? And wanna bet banks have lots of nulls and silly ages/data flubs in their databases? It's part and parcel of large datasets.

This is all a dog and pony show anways. Musk showed a list of SSNs, not of benefits paid out. Why? Because the latter is much lower.

It can be updated by the devs themselves and there has been updates in Cobol since ... stop believing the talking points... Must might produce numbers of it being paid out. There is 0% change there isn't someone out there getting paid from a stolen SSN

Of course there is SS fraud, there's fraud in every single entitlement program. But it's not on the scale that Musk is implying.

The most common fraud would be people paying into the program with a fake SSN and not getting benefits.

I’m sure you for proof of the paying into the program but not getting benefit. Why is there fake SSNs? You’re kind of justifying musk lol .. also no comment on COBOL ?
