Does TJ Dillashaw have Dana White privilege?

Aldo should get the next title shot. He deserves it. He isn't getting any younger, so give him a shot.

TJ rep is stained and he needs to earn it back. Let him fight yan, cejudo, merab, cruz next.

Aljo is a fucking dick for not asking for the aldo fight.

Yeah what a dick is the champ for not calling out his contenders.

Dont get me wrong, TJ in his prime is better arguably than any BW right now. But facts are facts. Dude got popped for EPO, suspended for 2 years, then arguably got a robbery decision vs Sandhagen (see below) and is now blessed with a TS. Meanwhile, legends like Aldo are fighting all the top contenders at BW (Vera, Merab, Font), winning dominant decisions on a three fight win streak and not getting a TS. TJ's even on paper ducked Aldo. Dude for sure has Dana White Privilege. What do you think Sherbros? Am I just salty or does he legit have DW privilege in being given a TS over more deserving contenders?

There's always a few fighters who get title shots every time they win a game of noughts and crosses.

TJ is no different to Weili, and no different to how the UFC used to treat Urijah Faber.

Faber once got a title shot for beating Frankie Saenz...

To be fair, Aldo got murk'd pretty decisively. TJ beat Sandhagen with one knee

I'm curious as to why people give TJ so much shit, where was this energy with Chael, Anderson Silva, Paulo Costa, Jon Jones, Brock Lesner, Werdum, Ubereem, Vitor, etc?
Jon Jones is still considered as GOAT for many fans and would prefer the Horse meat version of Overeem

Why do these fighters get a pass? Not defending TJ, just curious as to why he gets so much hate

Some of you kids are the worst.
In your own logic, aldo is almost done. So why would you want to give him the shot? They want someone they can promote for as long as possible

Oh so he beat a top contender within the year? Why haven't I seen this fight?
He's the lineal champ, and already smashed TJ.

We all know TJ didn't really beat Sandhagen

He served his suspension and came back to win a fight against a top contender. He's earned his shot.

The only reason he has haters saying he shouldn't fight for the belt are because 3 reasons:

1) Split decision vs Sandhagen (would they really change their tune if it was a unanimous decision though?)
2) Wanting to keep punishing TJ beyond his 2 year USADA suspension
3) Finding Aldo much more likeable than TJ (makes sense, but not relevant)
I still haven't forgiven him for that stupid padwork on the plane video. Should have got an extra two years for that

Last time I checked, that fight was at 125. That's a completely different weight class isn't it? Retired from the sport and no wins in the last 2 years?

The judges scored it otherwise, it was a close fight that could've gone either way. Cejudo needs a top win at 135 before getting a crack at gold. Aldo and TJ paid their dues. Let Cejudo get butchered by Yan.

Merab vs Aldo is so random that I almost take it as evidence that Jose is ducking Sterling lol, can't be just down to matchmaking that someone coming back from injury is the first in line

Jon popped twice and got an immediate titleshot both times...

At least TJ actually fought someone first. So nah, he's nowhere near as privileged as Jon Jones.
Yeah but Jon is black so it doesn't fit the narrative

TJ is the unbeaten BW lineal champ, and squeaked out a win in what was considered a contender eliminator match. He got caught taking PEDs for another weight class, and served his punishment for it regardless (two years of his prime, which he's clearly a bit past now).

The BW beltholder deserves the opportunity to snatch lineal champion status from TJ, and TJ technically earned a shot due to that status combined with the Sandhagen win.

More so because there is a backlog of 3 people worthy of a title shot. It becomes 4 or 5 if aljo loses and then yan is elgible again. This could take 2-3 years to sort out. I would rather Aldo get it as his time is running out and this will be his last chance.

Aldo was great and all but no way does he deserve a title shot. He's a 50/50 fighter since 2015! 3 and 3 in is last 6, 5 and 5 in his last 10 and 6 and 6 in his last 12. His prime is LONG gone, time to move on.

he is on a 3 fight winning streak and ranked 3. he isn't getting another shot if he has to wait. Rather he get one more shot before he is used to give o malley a push

I have prime TJ taking this fight but current TJ I’m not so sure.

These weight classes aren't generating big PPV dollars so I doubt Dana cares. Sterling probably pushed for TJ given his status in the division.

Aging TJ with questionable knee’s hmmm. Sounds like Aljo’s banking this is the best time to take out a big name in the division.

Jose ain’t goin no where’s.
