Does TJ Dillashaw have Dana White privilege?

Dont get me wrong, TJ in his prime is better arguably than any BW right now. But facts are facts. Dude got popped for EPO, suspended for 2 years, then arguably got a robbery decision vs Sandhagen (see below) and is now blessed with a TS. Meanwhile, legends like Aldo are fighting all the top contenders at BW (Vera, Merab, Font), winning dominant decisions on a three fight win streak and not getting a TS. TJ's even on paper ducked Aldo. Dude for sure has Dana White Privilege. What do you think Sherbros? Am I just salty or does he legit have DW privilege in being given a TS over more deserving contenders?

I disagree. I think he deserves a title shot because of the way he lost the belt. He didn't lose it in the cage. He never popped in the bantamweight division, so I really think he should have gotten a shot as soon as his suspension was up. That's just my opinion. Did Jon Jones have to take a fight before fighting for the belt when he returned from his suspensions?

The only reason he has haters saying he shouldn't fight for the belt are because 3 reasons:

1) Split decision vs Sandhagen (would they really change their tune if it was a unanimous decision though?)
2) Wanting to keep punishing TJ beyond his 2 year USADA suspension
3) Finding Aldo much more likeable than TJ (makes sense, but not relevant)

yeh the OSP fight. Also TJ probably would have got a TS had Aljo not played Leo di Caprio in the first Yan fight.

More people thought Sandhagen won sure, but there were enough siding with Dillashaw that there is still a debate to be had. Go look up Barber vs Maverick for a real robbery, this one ain't it.

No TS has been announced yet. It might be just as likely for Cejudo to get it as TJ. I mean there’s literally 3 guys with a case for the next TS. And this is the UFC..

I’m not jumping to conclusions until fights start being announced.

At least TJ actually fought someone first. So nah, he's nowhere near as privileged as Jon Jones.

I think its fine. It was a close decision and he got it.

Sandhagen looked complacent and unmotivated... he should have absolutely steamrolled TJ who was 2 years removed from the division with shot knees.
Aldo had a recent title shot against Yan and got smashed. (in fact he's lost 4 of his last 5 title shots, only beating edgar for a vacant one)
TJ did pop for EPO, but they back tested his blood work he was clean for his other title fights apparently, at least the ones against Cody.

i'm sure there is some dana 'white' privilege as well. TJ is more marketable than Aldo outside of brazil and hardcore fans.

No he's just one of the bigger names in the division, any fighter in the same situation would get the same result as TJ is getting right now. That's all that matters. Aldo will eventually get his shot, I also feel Aldo deserves it more. Just that Aldo has more of a hardcore fan base and TJ is slightly more known with the casuals. Aldo doesn't speak English so he's hard to market to an American audience.

Aldo was great and all but no way does he deserve a title shot. He's a 50/50 fighter since 2015! 3 and 3 in is last 6, 5 and 5 in his last 10 and 6 and 6 in his last 12. His prime is LONG gone, time to move on.
