Rashad would have won that fight no doubt in my mind. People like to cite Rashad’s control issues with Thiago Silva but don’t cite the specimen that Silva was at that time. He was an absolutely huge man for LHW he was very big and athletic Bjj black belt. I spent a lot of time at ATT and was at the Blackzilians with Rashad for two years. The size difference between the two was huge. Rashad is one of the most skilled athletic specimens that has ever competed in LHW right next to Rumble/Jones/and DC

Both of which aren't very good off their backs at getting back up or reversing. Watch Rashad fight Thiago Silva who is good at getting back up, he couldn't keep him down for shit and IMO Shogun was even better than him at getting back up and reversing position(especially at reversing position).

I think if they were to fight back then in a 5 round fight I don't see Rashad not getting badly hurt at some point and finished either on the feet or finished with GnP or at some point I think Shogun would reverse to top position and land GnP and with Rashad's chin and Shogun's at the time I don't see Rashad being able to finish or be able to make it to a decision in a 5 rounder. In a 3 round fight Rashad would have had a much better chance at winning IMO, 5 rounds favors Shogun cause of how much more durable he was back then and I think he had more ways to finish Rashad.
