Stipe is one of if not the best hw ever and you call him “mediocre”
You should stop posting like srsly posting and rethink why your comment is so stupid but probably can’t because you don’t have enough brain power to do so

He is not better than

1. Fedor
2. Nogueira
3. Werdum (ye she beat Werdum who gives a fuck Werdum sucks these days and is 40)
4. JDS
5. Cain

I doubt he beats any of the top guys in their primes because he was losing to Struve in his.
etc

The LHW champ vs the HW champ?

Yea of course that's a super fight. I feel like we've been spoiled by marvel's hulk vs thor superfights.

I am excited about the fight, though DC has already been a HW so him moving up doesn’t really make this fight bigger to me, I am excited because both are elite fighters, it kind of feels like a HW vs HW fight.

Jones vs Silva or Silva vs GSP would have been a "superfight" too bad neither one happened.. Maybe some day we can see a true superfight.

But yeah, this fight between stipe and dc is hell of a fight and is one of a rare kind while it doesn’t feel that "super" but still better and more interesting than 90% of the fights. I probably won’t get as excited as watching Wonderboy vs Till (I really enjoyed that tactical showcase of strategy from both) but might get.

DC got TKO'd in his last fight with Jones. No way this is a superfight. I think this is a quick money grab fight because DC is calling it quits soon. A real superfight would have been Stipe/Jones but I doubt Jones has the balls to step up to Stipe. So I will say it's commendable on DC's part but this still is not a superfight. Stipe wilts DC, I see no other way this fight ends.

No cuz Stipe has to actually be impressive and good for it to be a super fight. He's the best mediocre champ of all time. Prime Tim and prime Ricco KO him in the first.
A non-athletic uncoordinated guy who literally shit his pants in a fight, and a glass-jawed junkie, LOL.

For me it definitely is. The lack of hype just proves the MMA crowd really needs wrestling characters and trash talk to get excited about anything.

to date I don't feel like we've had a super fight. An example of a super fight would be GSP Vs Silva in like 2009-2012. That's the best example I could come up with. Maybe Jones vs Silva in the same time period.

Doesn't.

Stipe is one of the most boring champs ever, both personality and fighting style and DC is a barely legitimate LHW champ. Doesn't scream "super" to me.

EDIT: Neither has that many title defenses or that invincible aura either.

This right here.

It's sad, but oh so true.

I think BJ Penn was the closest to making super fights happen, but he kind of killed the buzz by having already fought at 170. BJ Penn vs GSP 2 was a battle of dominant champions from different divisions, but Penn had already been at 170 before, so it was less of a novelty.

Miocic vs Cormier does not feel like a super fight due to Cormier having the recent Jones KO "no contest." I think of super fights as a battle between dominant champions, or at least champions with a decent recent history. The PEDS may deprive Jon Jones of a win, but we cannot unsee Cormier's loss.

It is, but theres just so little momentum and enthusiasm with the UFC atm that even big cards dont seem to move the needle as much as they should. 225 apparently doing 150k for example, or Stipe/Ngannou earlier this year.

I honestly thought the double whammy of 225 and 226 would pull buyrates out of the rut they've been in, but nope, it feels like the UFC cant do anything right from a commercial perspective right now.

It is a Super fight, no doubt.

But no, it doesn't feel like one, Stipe is just so god damn bland, don't get me wrong come fight time i'll be excited to watch, but it's hard to get hyped in advance.

promotion behind it has been dogshit.

it only takes a couple of hype trailers jammed down my throat to get me all hot about a fight, but they can't even do that right.
The fight is in 3 weeks. There's still time.

I think it is a super fight for sure, just doesn’t feel like it (hype wise). It’ll be lucky to do 300k imo.
