I still DC as a HW at times so to me its just the two best HWs going for the belt. If DC started at LHW and this fight happened then I would feel like it is more of a super fight.

Stipe doesn't stress out about a fight. On the JRE podcast he talked about having an epiphany after the first JDS fight about the virtue of "not caring" — not tying yourself in knots worrying about whether you'll win or lose, just going and fighting the best you can. I think it shows in his style on TUF, like when he said "just another day at the office" to Gunther before his fight. Unfortunately what works for Stipe isn't going to work for a lot of others. And it doesn't make for riveting TV either. Cormier's drill sergeant impression is much more to a film editor's taste.
 
Replace DC with the true LHW champ and you have yourself a super fight.

Jones vs Miocic would go down in history

I am a DC fan, but i don't think you can automatically say he is one of the two best HW's in the world. Could he be? Sure, but until he actually beats the best at HW i don't think you can assume that. I think Werdum could give him problems, possibly Overeem though it seems he get knocked out by everyone these days and Cain if he can get his shit together. DC did look impressive against Bigfoot and him ragdolling Barnett was also quite impressive too, but obviously even at that time there were several HW's better than them.

lol, if Jones had to use PED's against DC because he didn't believe in himself without them, i think at HW he would be using every PED available too him. He's a coward and i think without PED's he gets destroyed by several fighters at HW.
 
To me it absolutely is... but I get why young people with no sense of history (and Jones trolls) want to cast shade on it.
 
It's definitely a superfight and I am stoked for it, but would be more excited for Stipe vs Jones .

Did you not see the compare between Jon Jones' bloodwork numbers and DCs numbers after their first fight??

Both of them put up numbers that were so low they shouldn't even look male much less be top tier athletes.

This doesn't feel like a real super fight because Jones beat DC twice and should be the one fighting Miocic.
 
Neither of them have that je ne sais quoi. Good fighters. Nothing that screams buy this ppv.
 
The problem is a matter of personality...as in neither fighter has a big enough one.

Stipe is legitimately the best HW fighter we’ve seen in the UFC, ever. Please note that I said in the UFC for all of you “prime Fedor” people.

DC is the second best LHW ever, but the problem is he is fighting in the same era as the best ever who can’t stay out of his own way.

I was more excited about Randy vs Chuck.

It really should have been Jones vs Stipe but we instead have to get the 2nd best LHW against the HW champ.

Nothing against DC but 2nd best is 2nd best.
 
Neither of your poll options seemed suitable. This fight is somewhere in between the 2.

I kind of see your point. It's a huge fight, highly relevant and between two top-tier guys and great representatitves of the sport but it does seem quite 'flat'. I don't know why, it just doesn't feel like anything special to be honest. I reckon it'll be a good fight and my anticipation will grow nearer the time, but right now it doesn't feel like anything different than Miocic vs. JDS II or Ngannou. Just a normal, regular HW title fight.

For the record, Stipe will start ending DC's career I reckon. Miocic will crack his chin for good (Jones set the ball rolling) and KO him, and DC will state that he's making one final 205lbs title defence before retiring.
