He blitzed Bigfoot the fuck out in the first round, much more easily than Werdum beat him. Then he beat Barnett who at that time was as highly regarded as Werdum if not more so. Not saying he for sure beats Werdum or Reem, but those are competitive fights on paper, even at that point.

He didn’t really bypass though, he fought Monson as part of an alternates bout in that tourney.

I mean honestly, I think it's stupid when people here favor guys because they are "clean", then nobody questions that they fought before USADA, and during steroid era their favorite fighters were more aggressive, stronger, and better cardio than the "PED users". I'm pretty sure PEDs don't matter or everyone was on them. Take your choice. Plenty of guys have people behind the curtain to let them pass drug tests.
 
Dc deserves some credit.. The guy is a middleweight that KFCed his way to a bloated HW/LHW tweener and still did decently.

Imagine if he had the discipline to stay away from the ice cream, grease ball burgers, and fried chicken to do mma at middleweight. The guy would probably be in pound for pound all time top X goat discussions

Dude is easily in the top 20 best fighters ever at LHW/HW weight classes. So, no I don't think he overrates himself.

The recency bias, personal animosity, and downplaying of a fighter's wins and opposition is great for revisionist history when is comes to the careers of HOF fighters, its like Sherdog's 2nd favorite thing after anointing whoever wins a title main event by KO as the potential GOAT and the loser is a bum who was never any good. Seen people here do it with Liddell, Sylvia, Randy, GSP, Anderson, Fedor, Jones, Lesnar, Penn etc...
 
Fuck Jon Jones. His second DC fight was worthless. It was a no contest. In hindsight probably his whole career was a steroid show. They moved an entire PPV to California because he cheated before the Gus rematch

That DC rematch could've ruined DCs career. What a selfish POS Jones is and thank God he's gone. Yes he may have beaten Aspinall- not because he beat DC- but because he's the most illustrated PED abuser the sport has seen

DEFINITELY OVERRATED.....he is only an:

Olympic medalist
PA champ
Strikeforce GP Champ
UFC two weight class defending double champ
KOTC Champ

He can rank himself as he chooses. He is unquestionably an all time great.
