The only way he gets an immediate rematch off a loss is if it’s controversial DQ. Even then, I am not sure they’d give him the rematch right away. They made Yan win another fight after Aljo clearly faked injury to get a DQ win, and I imagine they won’t be any nice to Belal.

Why would he be warranted an instant rematch he hasn't earned that . He has 1 title defense.. and he won the belt from Leons decline.. he bested a washed up inactive for years Colby..

And looking at Leons last fight belals title win doesn't age well. Looks like usmen to the best out of him and he's got nothing left

He isn’t liked by the UFC, he had to go 9-0-1 before getting a title shot. Other guys they like as marketable do far less to get a shot. They would make him clear out most of the top 10 and we know that isn’t happening at his advanced age. Belal was the first title challenger ever (at weight classes 125, 135, 145, 155, 170) to win the belt while 35 or older. Woodley is the only 1 ever to successfully defend the belt while 35 or older, of any champ in those 5 weight classes. 1 of those defense was against a even older Maia, & the other was vs Till (Till immediately lost 5 of 6 fights & was cut)

I never claimed Belal deserves an instant rematch, he doesn’t. I’m just pointing out the UFC doesn’t like him anyways, so he’s definitely not getting a rematch instantly. If he loses to JDM, he will never again get a title fight. He’s old as hell by WW standards. And yes, having no defenses is obviously huge factor. I do believe they view Belal as the least marketable male champ and even if he had a few defenses, he wouldn’t get a instant rematch
