Does Belal get in instant rematch if (when)

JDM knocks him dead?

Or does the UFC just dump him back to contender because he's a "boring champ"

Feels like a GSP v Serra I kind of vibe here. JDM winning could bring us BelalSP and I'm not sure the fora is ready for that.

Thoughts sherbros?
The actual question is under what circumstance would Belal get an immediate rematch. Under your hypothetical situation he most certainly does not. I would even question if they had a Robbie vs Rory style fight that went to a split decision, whether Belal would get a rematch. I think if/when Belal loses he will have a couple of "Interesting" non title fights like Strickland or something. Maybe a Leon rematch and then retirement.

Even if he dominates JDM for five what should be 10-8 rounds yet somehow loses a dec considered to be the biggest robbery in ufc history the answer is still no

Belal is not a long time champ, Belal is not a superstar and his division is not dead andddd Islam is waiting. There is a zero reason for him to get a rematch unless it's an extremely controversial result. Even then he would still leave the WW for his bro Islam.

Unless its some controversial decision i dont see how or the need for a rematch, its his first title defense.

I'm pretty sure the fix is in with the judges and ref already. Can't have a Palestinian champ that speaks English fluently highlighting the travesties going on.

Comparing Belal to GSP should be an instant yellow card.

Belal is a champion who's never defended a belt and ruined a PPV with a last minute pullout. Why would he ever deserve a title rematch?

So I hope you are trolling here.
We don't even have to take into account how boring or unpopular he is.

No instant rematches every outside of legitimate controversy, draw (maybe), or judging error. This stuff needs to stop.

i like him just because of his persistence and the butthurt he brings to Dana and the community including sherdog.

and the crows served when he won.

well, until shavkat or makachev rightfully took over.

I don't think he gets a rematch even on a split decision, Islam V JDM may aswell be announced by Bruce Buffer in the same breath

to much top end young talent. belal is old. when he loses the UFC isnt giving him another shot. dana already hates him.

Only way Belal gets a rematch is if it ends in a draw, even then they might try to strip him and have JDM and Shavkat fight for the vacant belt.
