80% of his title denseness are Colby and Masvidal.

It is unbelievable Dana is still this salty about GSP this many years later.

His champion resume has really aged like milk. People gave him props for fighting often as champ, which is deserved, but yeah, in hindsight he was fighting mostly the same 2 guys who are no longer viewed as being that good.

I'd have to sit and think about where I rank Usman all-time but he's definitely not Welterweight GOAT.

Dana is just mad GSP called his shots and left like a boss - on top! 🫡

Exactly, and he did that two times to Dana, his initial retirement and then again in 2017 which is why he's probably still mad. Dana is such a petty person, the UFC has made billions since then and he still treats GSP like an ex who had no right to leave him.

Dana likes to see his legends leave only when they’re washed and fully drained of all money making potential for the UFC.

So far, maybe. He fought way harder competition than GSP
Fitch, Shields, Koscheck, Diaz and Hendricks are better than anyone Usman fought. I think the only title defenses that Usman’s opponents can definitively say they were better than are Dan Hardy and Matt Sera. Masvidal is one of his best wins and he couldn’t even make it as a lightweight in GSP’s time. And in my opinion, Masvidal was actually better back then, way more technical vs just looking for the knockout then gassing out.

Masvidal we all knew was a middling guy most of his career who was a good fighter but not top of the heap by any stretch.

Colby you never even knew what he was cause he never fought any contenders. He just cherrypicked matchups with old men and sat out for title shots. His fights vs Leon and Buckely really do show he may not have been all that.

You can give him the Woodley win sure, but 1 win by no means at all makes someone a GOAT.

As someone said earlier - it's literally only Dana and Usman who are saying this. I'm not seeing any MMA fans agreeing with it at all.

dunno about mma, but greatest hairline of WW for sure

I consider Condit better than Masvidal, throw him in there too.

That was the beginning of a sharp decline for Woodley. Colby was a good wrestler but not a good MMA wrestler. He really struggled to convert his style of wrestling to the cage. And if it wasn’t for his cardio, he probably wouldn’t have been able to get anyone down. Forget keeping them there.

No BJ would have dropped him and then RNC’d him
Other than that though he is probably the best who is t Georges

Dammit we shoulda got GSP vs Robbie back in the day

That's a great point. I don't see GSP losing to Leon Edwards.

Now that I think about it, I don't see Hughes or Penn losing to him either. Especially not twice.

Hughes and Penn are often grossly underrated these days. Had they came up with the HD video/youtube and modern training techniques, nutrition, they'd be animals.

Usman was good, but not top 3 in my book.

Usman vs Fitch would've been interesting.

This thread wasn't about who had the longest reign but who was the best WW fighter overall. But you GSP fanboys only focus on championship fights and deliberately omit some of Usman best wins against guys like Strickland, Woodley, Maia, Burns or even Colby (who's better than Fitch), which I doubt GSP would have beaten, so you can keep believing your own narrative about GSP's competition. So yeah, your idol GSP had a longer reign, but Usman fought tougher competition during his career and that's a fact. But you don't have to convince me about GSP's greatness. I don't care. You people can believe whatever you want, so there's no need to reply to me again.
