Does anyone here buy lottery scratch tickets?

The lotto where I live paid for my college education because I made good grades. I play them a couple of times a year. Usually for Christmas, I will get a bag and fill it with a bunch of stuff the person likes and then I throw a lottery ticket in there as a cherry on top. Also, I find it fun to talk about all the cool things I would do if I won.

compound interest
Stock Market that's FED backed
etc

Slow and steady wins the race

Stop going to convenience stores then. Whole place is a suckers bet. Besides Lotto you got drinks that cost 10x grocery store. Food that's unhealthy and over priced. Cigarettes that put you in the grave. etc.
 
Nah. My wife will sometimes play the lottery, but that's about it. Someone in my area did win $10 million off a scratch off though about 3 years ago. His roommate actually stole it from him and of course got caught so it was plastered all over the news.
 
I fucking despise these people - taking up 10-15 min at a goddamn gas station playing the lottery.

My cousin buys them all the time and seems to have some good luck with them. Idk, he seems to have a system and it works for him.

he also has a good career and makes a lot more money than I do. It’s obviously -EV but I’m sure there is some sort of edge if you look into it.
 
i did would buy poker one but won a lot as well lost few times
 
Rarely but I played some last year, and won like $15 but never cashed them in, found them after cleaning, tried to cash them in I guess I missed their expiration date by 3 days.

A guy I grew up with won $3.2m in the lottery. He paid off the last $200k on his mortgage and spent $10k on an old car to fix up. He invested the rest and didn't change anything else - same house, same job.

He was happy with his life and didn't want anything to change. He only told a couple of people, but the word got out and suddenly he was deluged with loan requests, sad stories and investment "opportunities".

He ended up losing a lot of "friends" and "family" who seemed to think he owed them something. He was depressed about it for a while, but eventually realized the ones the people that were happy for him and didn't ask for anything were the only ones worth keeping.

Those hedge funds are fucked on so many stocks. They have legit been caught with massive amounts of shorts and naked short positions. If they ever close their positions, Game stop is going to squeeze to like 25-30k a share and amc to like 5-10k. I am not sure they will close their positions though or they will disappear.
