I tip because I know what it's like to have worked in a restaurant. I also tip because I feel it's my responsibility, racially, to dispel the stereotype that we do not tip.
being an asshole to people who tip poorly sure wont do you any favors by providing additional shitty service. if anything you lose other potential business like a dumbass because they tell their friends how shit the service was.
brilliant.
management doesn't see it that way.
management would rather get rid of the employees who try to get a customer "back" because it hurts their profit ultimately. I know because of a family owned restaurant.
News flash: Nobody who doesn't have a personal financial stake in the restaurant will give a shit, manager or not.
ive known a few people who got fired for trying to get the better of customers in that manner by managers who had no stake so that's not entirely true.
I'd say it's true more often than not.
I don't work in the food industry. But I can't stand the cunni wafts on Sherdog who think tipping is too inconvenient for them, and then pretend that they are some millionaire entrepreneur who is 6'5", benches 450 and looks like a young John Stamos.
Losing a couple of shitty customers didn't hurt us in the slightest bit. Why bother giving them good service if they're going to be shitty customers either way?
its my way of giving to charity, its a crummy job and i can afford to help out so i do.
