I have hard time tipping when I sit & eat at a restaurant then I got a tip app on my android and I flow from there now as my guideline to tip. But never tip on takeout service.

My outlook too a little bit. Anyone tip at those self serve buffet places like Country Buffet where all they do is take your plate?

At Golden Corral where the servers fill your drinks in addition to taking your places and they keep the drinks full then yeah I'll throw down a few bucks. But not at HomeTown Buffet/Old Country Buffet when you have to go get your own drinks.

On a side note, there was a news story a while ago that said that people in my city only tip 62% of the time. I found this kinda hard to believe. Then I realized that this was based on all card reading machines that have a tip option. Every pizza place that I pick up from has that option, but why the fuck would I tip the people at Pizza Hut, Papa John's or Dominos if I'm picking up my pizza. I'm sure many places that don't often get tips have that option on their card readers.

I come to pay for my food. Not the service. If I had the option, I'd walk to the kitchen and get my own damn food.


Granted, if I plan on returning to a place, I'll tip. But if not, then I don't.

What pains me is that America's tipping culture is seeping out into other cultures. They even want a tip in Dubai now. Fuck tipping.

that's why I love places that have seating, but you order and pick up your food at the front. That actually sounds like fast food, so I hope I'm getting the point across.

I actually find waiters to be annoying, as they always seem to interrupt good conversation in order to do their job.
