Opinion Do you think women will ever lose right to vote ? Or are Interracial marriage bans are possible?

Women’s right to vote was enshrined via constitutional amendment, so overturning that is very unlikely. Interracial marriage could be overturned easily, but it won’t be—even the right wing justices agree with Loving. What’s strange is that they see—or pretend to see—some constitutional difference between Loving and Obergefell where no difference exists.
Obergefell is on the chopping block for sure.

Edit: no idea worldwide. Way too complex to try and address that.

Sherbros have brought up the point that (hetero) interracial marriages can produce children to differentiate them, and that is true. It was somewhat ironically also the primary motivation for the existence of anti-miscegenation laws in the first place.

There’s no difference constitutionally/legally is what I mean. There’s nothing in the Constitution that would differentiate marriages that (could) produce children from those which cannot.

it may be over turned but no state will disallow women's voting rights or gay marriage for that matter
You mean the states that still have sodomy laws wouldn't strip gay people of their right to marry? Lmao, what??

Name the state that had a law on the books that outlaws same sex marriage. In fact there are only 13 states that don't actually have a law specifically allowing same sex marriage.
Sodom laws are not sex specific and never enforce now.

There are 35 of them that have laws like that on the books actually. Those laws are not in effect because of Obergefell, but would be back in effect if it was struck down.

There is grey area. The christians in these states I recall never outlined what is sodomy. Wikipedia days beastility, and anal sex hetero or honosexual. Anal is banned even for hetero muslims but not for all christian sects. In practice Hetero couples were never charged with sodomy.

We’ve come to far to go back to that.

No.

it will be a states rights issue that will likely fail due to the massive amounts of money these states will lose from those of us that are down with the swirl, leaving.

interracial marriage is wayyy too deep in our country’s DNA to fuck with it now.
I don’t follow. Interracial marriage has only been permissible nationwide since 1967—just 3 years before the Griswold case on contraception, and just 6 years before Roe.

oral sex is sodomy as well. it won't happen if it's reverted to states rights - any state pushing for it to be banned will have made a major political blunder

Ehhh I don’t think it’s quite that simple. It depends on how it was legalized. In my state, it’s not only the SCOTUS decision but also decision of the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals that makes it legal in my state. If Obergefell falls at the SCOTUS though, gay marriage wouldn’t remain legal here. That’s the case in many states.

Women aren't doing too good these days already, would be stupid to take away their power to influence things for the better. Some of the bullshit is self inflicted damage, but still...

No comment on the interralial marriage ban, lol

You know fully well that this law will only be enforced regarding homosexual couples.

lol @ North Dakota being among the first five states in the country to decriminalize it back in the early '70s. That's my muhfuckin' Heartland.

But see, no marriage and no anti-discrimination laws based on sexual orientation. It's still conservative without being fucking psycho. And sodomy laws are third-world fundamentalist level psycho.

In light of moving backwards on abortion and rumors of overturning same sex marriage.

Couls you see any countries in the world removing womens right to vote which all countries have except now it seems Taliban run Afghanistan.

What about interracial marriage bans which only Arab countries seem to have ? Could you see nations anywhere else doing this.

Do you think in the US or anywhere else in the world they will move backwards? Only countries I read dont allow this stuff are middle eastern ones.

Crazy times we in
Women will still vote and women will still be able to work. Roe was bad law. Overturning of roe is progress

Since the US is becoming more Christian, I'm waiting for this one to be observed:

"“Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery, and he who marries a woman divorced from her husband commits adultery."
