"Do You Think I Should Be Deported?"

The law is the law. Compassion has nothing to do with it. So yeah, tough shit.

You literally just made an exception for Trump's wife. IF the law was the law, half our politicians would be in prison. But they're not. If the law was the law, all of us would be paying fines for downloading music, pirating, and streaming. You just speak from a position that has absolutely no connection to this argument so you can go on living in your own little bubble proclaiming idealistic bullshit like the law is the law.

It was once law that black and white people couldnt eat together. Were the people who violated that law criminals in your mind?

please explain to me why someone should be allowed to live here for those extenuating circumstances. without an emotional appeal of course, lest I write you off as an emotional child.

Well let's start with what crime did this child commit? You do know that presence in the U.S up until 18 years old is not illegal right?
If there is no crime, what basis do you have for punishing this person? This person literally had no knowledge, intent, or any real responsibility to not enter the united states illegally. This a child. Besides, most illegal immigrants just get visas to come here and over stay, so their entry was legal. Their presence until 18, is not illegal. So where is the crime?

Why can't we? What was is the original act that folks disapproved of?

Do you think they'd actually follow it and seek citizenship?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DREAM_Act

House republicans don't want to allow these law abiding people to become tax paying citizens.

And let me ask you a question? Do you truly believe living undocumented here is some paradise? All the undocumented people I've met use other people;s ssn to work and they have to pay taxes on top of paying a fee to this person for permission to use their ssn. My classmate from college worked a full time job to pay for college tuition. He would an arm for u.s citizenship if he could.

I meant it in the context that she had 20 years to apply for citizenship and did not bother to do so. I agree there is nobody who is perfectly responsible, but you would think applying for US citizenship within 20 years of living in a country you are not a citizen of would be a priority. Obviously, something is wrong when there is no desperation for someone to apply for citizenship to a country they are not living in legally.
When you apply for citizenship you have to leave the country for many years. And many other requirements, if you had a family here. Would you leave your family? you can be out of the country for 5-10 years.

the dream act passed the house back in 2010 and then was filibustered in the senate. it was short of 5 votes to overcome it. some of those that voted against it(rubio) wound up voting for the larger immigration overhaul that would have legalized many more. go figure.
Probably not. I know I wouldn't if I was in that situation. I'd be to scared of getting denied and then they'd have all my information to come deport me. Maybe if I could find a way to do it so that I'm not giving out my real house address or job information.
any info you enter under fed documents have to be truthful. you cant make up things or lie. its grounds for denial, getting revoked or deportation. the gov estimated around 1.5 million to be eligible for daca. 750k wound up getting approved. most of those who filed for it were approved. likely because they were confident they would not get denied and met all the grounds for it. its specifically warned that any info you use can be used against you and is not a gurantee that you wont be deported.

Not watching a CNN video, but if she's breaking a law, the law should be enforced. There's lots of laws I don't like, but I don't get to just break them without consequence.

This. I don't get what's so hard to understand that violent and or criminal illegals should definitely be deported. I don't get the hang up on this.

Chances are also, that even if they are illegal, if there not out commiting felonies they most likely will fly under the radar. What are people worried about?

They're living here illegally . . . they're not completely law abiding.

I have no clue . . . frankly, I'm glad I have no clue. I couldn't imagine dealing with something like they do.

The folks allowing someone else to use their SSN should be put in jail . . .

why are you stuck on there needing to be a crime committed? what crimes lead to deportation for citizens? there aren't any crimes where the punishment is exile.

We have the authority to kick non visaed, illegals, out of the country for any reason because they are not even granted permission to be here. If she is deemed to be a net benefit to the nation, she can stay. If she is deemed a net negative, we can kick her out.

There are many US citizens that are net negatives that should be kicked out, but legally we cannot.

I don't understand why this is so difficult for you to understand. our country is not obligated to keep shitty undocumented immigrants if they don't meet our standards.

My grandmother and mother came here on green cards from el salvador during the civil war. I most certainly have zero sympathy for illegal immigrants. sure, it sucks that she potentially might have to pay for her parents mistakes. blame her parents.

Technically, yes. Those people fought the law, and helped get it abolished. You could make the same argument for these folks too. Until they get the law changed though, it's still the law, and they are breaking it.

Now as far as your other examples go, just because a lot of people get away with breaking certain laws all the time doesn't make them any less of a law. Some people get away with trafficking drugs for years. If they eventually get caught, it's not like "Well, you guys let me get away with it for years, so why punish me now?" is going to hold up in court.

I would not leave my family, but I would be constantly worried that I could be deported at any time and I certainly would not feel entitled to benefit from a country that I am not a citizen of. The big problem with the USA is that they have allowed illegals to get too comfortable. There is a huge problem when illegals are getting on (fake) news broadcasts like CNN and questioning politicians. She should have been handcuffed and taken for deportation before she finished her question. Make Illegals Afraid Again.
