Both guys have a lot going for them. Aldo has striking, especially amazing leg kicks, plus he has speed, great timing, aggression, killer instinct. On Bendo's side he seems to have an indestructible chin, unbelievable cardio and strong wrestling.

I don't think Aldo could stop Bendo, tbh. He could certainly hurt his legs and by doing so his wrestling, but I don't think he'd get a (T)KO. Bendo could probably impose his will with wrestling, he's very big and strong compared to Aldo.

I think either Bendo gets a wide UD by wrestling and grinding down Aldo, or Aldo wins a wide UD by dominating exchanges and staying away from the clinch.

Maybe. Aldo's conditioning has been not too great in certain fights so if Bendo could survive Aldo early he could maybe outlast him for a decision. Then again, without a weight cut Aldo's cardio could be better. It would be an awesome fight, no matter what.

While we can speculate that Aldo cardio could improve if he move up to 155, we should also think that his speed MIGHT be affected.

People always bring this up. He's done it ONCE and has defended LOADS of takedowns. Also, right after he grabbed to cage Chad put Aldo down to his knees, to which Aldo got straight back up and knocked him the hell out.

I think Bendo is too big, strong, and athletic for Aldo sadly. but then again, Aldo is a fucking murderer and he can end a fight anytime he wants and needs very little room to do so, so there is a real chance of him getting a finish. my brain says yes, my heart says it's too close to call.

aldo is without a doubt the better fighter, but hes much much smaller. Sizewise I'd say aldo is about average for fw, Bendo is bigger than Penn whos won a title at WW. Even if Bendo can put Aldo on his back though, I don't get the attitude that thats game over. Aldo is supposedly one of the best in the world at BJJ, so even if it ends up there he can still threaten.

hes too big and too skilled. aldo isnt going to kick his legs from under him, and ill take benson in the grappling match all day long.

if aldo were to win, it would have to be a brutal counter early, imo. even with a big shot i dont see him finishing benson. dudes got a hell of a chin and great recovery.

Why? who exactly gets slower by not-cutting-so-much-weight and fighting basically at the same weight?

If anything, it will be his biggest advantage against Benson, SPEED.

I'd call Bendo over Aldo. Aldo comes on strong but fades, Bendo goes 25 minutes without slowing down. Add to that the fact that Aldo wouldn't have a size advantage over him and there you go, Bendo all the way.

Yeah, Aldo barely nudged out a win (that could have gone either way). Edgar is also smaller and far less aggressive than Bendo so I'm not entirely sure where you're going with your MMAth.
