Do you support Roe Vs. Wade?

Every atheist on YouTube seems to have a cat and/or dog.

The point I was getting at is that the same people who don't give a @#$% about flushing a baby down a drain, are the same people who nearly @#$% their pants with joy when they find out that "Whiskers" is expecting kittens.
Seems like your problem is with God's creation (or really just human biology). Since many/most eggs that are fertilized do not attach and do not become babies, the female reproductive system is basically Hitler according to your logic.

I fail to see your point but your post is kind of irrelevant. "Most atheists on youtube have a cat or dog"?? I mean what are you talking about? You realize a cat can pretty much take care of itself right? A dog you have to buy food and take it for walks but it also pretty much takes care of itself. Comparing a baby to a cat/dog is disingenuous and kind of a lame attempt to disparage atheists

Man this topic always produces really dumb conversation.

Do you think contraception is a problem? If yes, why?
I don't believe it's wrong to prevent fertilization, but I oppose any method of so-called "birth control" that functions as an aborting mechanism, i.e. any method that acts AFTER fertilization.

Well that's pretty inconsistent with your tree seed answer, right? Also, I don't see a logical reason to be ok with preventing fertilization vs very soon after fertilization (I get that there is a point were abortions should not happen, barring medical necessity).

That doesn't really hold up either. When we do something that has a small chance of unintended, life-changing consequences, we aren't "consenting" to have the problem happen. That your sympathy disappears sounds to me like vestigial religion, a mildly sadistic impulse against a transgression upon the moral aether, some real bronze age holdover stuff.
I think the distinction BEER made earlier is fair to an extent. When you engage in driving or sex, you don't necessarily consent to the worst of circumstances. The difference is that the ultimate purpose of driving is transportation, not accidents, while the ultimate purpose of sex is procreation so I still think its different. In many cases we're not talking about a small chance, we;re talking about a fairly significant one. If they don't consent to it then they at least accept the risk which in some cases is not negligibl.

And sure, maybe I don't think its healthy for people to approach sex in such a casual manner given what is at stake. You can call it sadistic or bronze age if you like but I just think people should have a little more responsibility when toying with what is one of the most consequential experiences humans can have.

We can just get right to the chase and I'll say humans are not a divine species. We are so screwed up biologically that god would have to be an absolute moron to create us in his "perfect" image.

Face it, zygotes and fetuses just don't have much value other than the value you may attribute to it

So, because you have to feed and clothe a baby for it's first few years of life, they're dispensable?

Anyone who has ever advocated abortion, yourself included, should consider that the only reason they're able to spread their ideals is because they weren't aborted.

And if I was aborted?? Then so what? Life would still go on and the world wouldn't miss a beat. I'm really not seeing much relevance to your arguments besides emotional ones

The fact that we are "screwed up biologically" only means that our DNA has been deteriorating from the first human, who Scripture teaches us, brought this upon himself.

As for humans not being a divine species, that's simply you not attributing value to life. But, what's to be expected when we're taught in school that we're just high-developed monkeys!

I'm not getting into a debate on evolution but everything you just posted is correct. We are screwed up biologically, we are not a divine species and we are "high-developed" monkeys. You may not like it and I'm sorry for that but if you deny science then you should pray next time you get sick and not see a doctor. Skip those immunization shots and since gravity is just a theory (like evolution) the next time you see a ledge, go ahead and jump off because after all... god will save you right?

You "get" that there's a point where abortions shouldn't happen? What point should that be? 2 1/2 months...3 months...3 and 1/2 months...4 months...???

I don't know, but that is a question for medicine and a decision that should be made between the mother and doctor.

Any response to what I said to you?

I actually agree that there is a point where abortions should not happen. UNLESS the mother's life is in jeopardy. I will leave that date up to the doctors and biologists.

  • You sure act like a rambunctious little chimp!
  • Who's denying science? Science and religion are not mutually exclusive. Science is merely the study of God's Creation!
  • You buffoon...you do realize there were doctors and physicians in Scripture, right?
  • God, not swamp water, gave us an amazing brain to realize that jumping off a cliff isn't a very bright idea.

Yeah, let's leave that decision up to an evolutionary biologist fresh out of college, with no kids, and virtually no life experience!

Super idea!

1. I'm sorry you don't like the fact we evolved from ape like species
2. Science has nothing and I mean NOTHING to do with god.
3. I'm not sure what your point is here. lol
4. I'm sorry you don't like the fact that we evolved from ape like species.
