In regards to the clean criminal records, some MCs - Hells Angels - have branched off into white collar jobs that require a clear background. And they start doing shady business in real estate, lending, financial securities, etc. Difficult to get in those fields (if at all) with a criminal record.
Back in 2006 or 2007 there was a case here in San Diego that involved a bunch of refinance loans that had bogus payouts, fraudulent appraisals. There were alleged ties to Hells Angels, Iirc the case didn't go to trial.
So they aren't really clean then? That's what I was wondering about. I get that they all have differing criminal backgrounds, but I always figured the point of being a 1%er was to be shady in one way or another.
