Yeah I'm sat on my arse in front of a computer all day. I work from home tho so I can get up and go for a wander whenever I want.

I don't think I could handle working from home

I mean my office is a half hour walk away - I walk intentionally despite having a car for fresh air and exercise, walk on all breaks and lunches

If I worked at home I wouldn't even really have to get dressed ... I would grow a caveman beard and my cats would always be on me and I would lose all touch of reality with my house being my workplace and my bathroom is really close to my computer

not good don't know how people do it

Gotta love those stock photos.
The construction worker is wearing a clean shirt with a button down collar, hard hat is completely shiny, and those work gloves look brand new, without a speck of dirt. I guess they thought making him Latino was all the realism they needed.
Needs a jump suit and chains.

I'm like the 2nd guy pictured. Although carrying that chunk of half round seems a bit excessive.

So tell us what you do already @zapataxiv
I am a manager for several companies related to producing educational products and developing lesson plans for teachers. Right now there are three job sites within several miles from each other so if the weather is alright I will walk between them.

I work 12.5 hours, a huge chunk of that is behind the wheel of a patrol car

I have spent some years working as a CCTV operator. I choose to stand a lot of my shift.

Literally on my feet all day as a carpenter

Pretty shit times considering my mcl Is shredded and I have no clue what to do right now

I'm at work for 8.5 hours and approx 7 of it I'm sitting on my ass. 3-4 of it I'm on Sherdog.

Well considering you spend so much time here you'd think you would know the rules by now
You naughty boy

About 80 percent of my job is at a computer or in a meeting. The other 20 percent is walking around the production floor.

Unfortunately. But I've had 50/50 jobs before and would love to go back. Doing shit away from a desk feels better and kills time faster. But I do like a little desk work.

99% of my job is at home at my desk, which is also were I relax, play my instruments, browse Sherdog... Which is why I went with a standing desk. Not a fancy and expensive one, I simply found some IKEA cabinets that put a good wooden plank at the right height for me. I also have a bar chair if I want to sit a bit.

I sit aaaaalll day on the computer at work. My phone says my daily average walking distance during the week is less than a mile, even when I walk a few blocks to get coffee and walk around the office a bit. I try to compensate by doing long hikes during the weekend and early morning 1hr+ walks twice a week.

I've had other jobs that required me to supervise implementation of Marketing campaigns, POS materials and such, so it involved 50/50 driving around and doing office work. That was pretty good, time would fly by and I had a lot of freedom to roam around and even run an errand or two if i needed to.

Yes I am at a desk 8 hours a day. A few times during the day I will get up and walk around to stretch my legs and eyeballs. Usually to walk down and take a glance at the weather or the chick with the yoga pants and nice ass.

To all us sit-downers:

I sit down to work with computers but I walk to and from work and on my lunch and breaks

I actually have a fitbit and am often on top of the ladder.

My step goal is 12,000 and I always get this on a work day - 3,500-4,000 steps one way to work and the rest on my breaks and lunches. Actually get more steps in on a work day than not most usually as I'm busy on off days.

I notice a lot of people will leave their desk for a break and go sit down somewhere else ... like the lunge couches etc. Seems weird to me to take a break from sitting to sit ... somewhere else

I like it. No commute or petrol costs, don't have to iron work clothes and can just get on with things with no distractions. I take the dog out a few times for a change of scenery.
