Do you ever stop to appreciate garlic?

a company I worked at one needed to order some garlic oil. That was some potent stuff that would ruin your week if it stilled on you.

Did enjoy reading about how a cancer patient claimed he was able to kill of his cancer stem cells by eating raw garlic. Wouldn't be much fun eating that way i can imagine but better than the alternative I suppose.

I had not heard that. More garlic it is then

yes, absolutely. i live in san jose, and the capital of garlic is like ten miles south of me. there's a great pizza place, like a five-minute walk from me. has like 40 cloves of garlic on one pie. amazing!!! it won an award one year, i forget when.
Gilroy?

I only know because Indian motorcycles were made there for a while

Every time it goes in my mouth. Top 10 GOAT flavours/ingredients all-time.

I used to go to the Garlic festival 15 min north of me here in CA. The garlic ice cream was great. They had a lot of great garlic dishes

It's been 12-13 years since I've been to the Gilroy Garlic Festival. Tried the same garlic soft serve ice cream. Wasn't there a shooting there like 5 years ago? Does the festival still exist? Miss the days of going to all the different food related festivals and events. The chocolate festivals/salons in SF and the Rib Cookout in Reno were my favorite though.

Anyway garlic is a staple in our household. My wife usually buys a container of pre-peeled garlic, minces them up in the food processor and stores it in a jar mixed with cooking oil in the fridge. Then will use it as needed when marinating meats or stir fry veggies. One of my favorite old school restaurants in SF is The Stinking Rose. Everything is garlic out including the dipping oil for the bread. I remember their food going downhill over the years, but not sure if that changed since they moved locations. Worth trying out if you love garlic!

No it does not exist anymore. The shooting combined with covid ended it in Gilroy.

I guess there is one in Los Banos area now which is a hot shit hole

I used to hate garlic and onion as a kid. Now I love them both on everything

I love it, but it literally hates my guts.

I love when our local variety of red russian garlic starts hitting our farmers markets here in BC Canada.

Proper. I'm also in BC. I grew 3 varieties of hardneck this year, Russian Red, Italian Porcelain, and another one that the guy called Chesnok which is Russian for Garlic so I don't actually know what it is but it's big with purple striping. I planted 300 bulbs. I figure I'll start pulling them end of August-early September.

Can we shop some love to scapes too? The green onion of garlic. I'll eat these bad boys any way but I love them pickled.
